I enjoyed my time spent at The University of Edinburgh, I felt like lecturers and staff value students’ opinions and were generally very helpful when provided with questions relating to the course or a broader subject. The course-specific equipment and facilities were excellent, providing opportunities to use high-level scientific equipment to develop learning and understanding of various aspects of the course. This was affected by covid, unfortunately, as all lectures moved online for my final two years which did affect the smoothness of how the course was run and how information was relayed to students.
That being said, concepts and ideas were still explained well by staff even though it wasn’t in person.
One or two downsides to my studies at Edinburgh University were COVID related so it is tough to gauge, but I felt a lack of community throughout the course and the uni, as well as different levels of support from staff. But overall I am very happy with my experiences and would highly recommend them to someone else.
