I did electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Southampton. Our professors did understand their work so well that every student were very appreciative of the work they did to us. The experience and training was hands on coupled with attachment opportunities and practical classes within the university. Good reading library and practical workshops. Participation in sports highly encouraged among students and also in other social clubs.
View moreThis university has so much character and has the potential to be a great place to be a student. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at university and especially Southampton. I am however reaching the point at which I have “completed” Southampton and almost know it too well. My degree has been a challenging aspect of my time at university however it has enabled me to experience all the facilities that the university has to offer. There are also many societies which helps distract me from the stresses of my degree!! There is always development going on at the university which is good to see and to see how the campus is changing to be more modern and ensure that students are proud to go to Southamtpon.
View moreI chose Southampton because it was the only university I found with an engineering foundation year. As well as the engineering foundation year it offers it also has a very high ranking especially in electrical engineering which made choosing it very easy.
View moreThis university offers a great experience in learning. All the lectures are really helpful. I enjoy meeting new friends from around the world here. Practical skills and good job prospects also provided by the university with the collaboration of external companies.
View moreThis university certainly gives you exposure to a large amount of theoretical and practical knowledge concerning the degree you are pursuing. I am a EEE students which UoS is proud of their reputation and it is indeed a good one. However I must note that my course is fast paced, and you must have dedication and discipline or you won’t make it far.
View moreI am an MSc student at the school of electronics and computer science(ECS) of the University of Southampton. My course in electrical engineering is well structured and allocated throughout a year, so you will not feel heavily loaded and depressed. The university provides high-quality education and diverse student life. Everyone can find a suitable activity and join one of the multiple societies. Also, the location of the university is very convenient and creates a conducive atmosphere for study. In general, my overall impression of the university is very positive and I would definitely recommend the University of Southampton as a great place to study.
