The actual university is small- very intimate. Accommodation blocks only contain 800 students, so freshers get a good chance to meet a tonne of people on a regular basis. The actual course is good, a good range of different assessments. Professors are sometimes not very helpful.
View moreThe facilities were lacking when it came to projects, but the lecturers were passionate which made it more enjoyable. If students had better accessibility to resources needed, the university would be higher ranking.
View moreI really like the university. It’s quite a small campus which is really nice as it feels like a tight-knit community. I study Speech and Language Therapy and I find the course really interesting. The facilities in uni are great also.
View moreThe uni is small which makes it have a close student cantered feel however also prides itself on the diversity with trying to have equal opportunities for everyone, help is always available and there’s many ways to improve not only our education but career opportunities. Most of the staff reply quickly to emails and classes are a good size which allows for discussion and ability to ask questions, the main issues i face is marks being told they’ll get to us by a certain date and not getting them for months after which is slightly explainable by the strikes but still is ridiculously long after promised, the coursework is a steady pace for my course atleast. The uni also offers meals and activities now and again to make sure students are well and can meet new people
View moreUndergrad dietetics students, love my course and the lecturers are super helpful and very good at what they do. Though uni facilities are a bit disappointing. The library is very small and I often struggle to find quiet spaces to study and sports facilities at the uni are at a bare minimum. I stay in university accommodation, it’s affordable and comfortable and all the facilities in the accommodation are in great condition
View moreIt is a nice atmosphere to study in, the university is big on inclusion and diversity and supporting students whenever they can, lectures are either really helpful and engaging or just read out powerpoints and give no help but i guess that’s expected at any place of study
View moreQueen Margaret University really shines a light on social justice issues within all their degree material which I feel is invaluable in this day and age. That’s not to say anything about the learning is preachy – there is a great balance. The lecturers, tutors and all other staff members are supportive and knowledgeable in their fields and their content is up-to-date and interesting.
View moreQMU has many advantages and disadvantages, its main advantage being its size. Since it is a small university, students have the chance to familiarise themselves with professors and ask for personal advice, help and more. It is a very practical university, meaning its workload will be very realistic and you have the ability to be specific to what you would like to do in the future. However, its disadvantages are that you may miss out on a real university student life, due to its small student population.
