Nottingham University’s Animal Science course is well-structured with excellent professors. The School of Veterinary Medicine and Science provides state-of-the-art facilities for practical experience. Although the cost of living can be high, the University offers scholarships and bursaries to offset costs. Overall, I highly recommend Nottingham University to anyone interested in studying Animal Science.
View moreMy MSc course satisfies my passion for studying science, especially microbiology. Coming to UoN, you will learn from the scientists and researchers who are the pioneers of their field. Hence, the teaching materials are very detailed, and the modules support each other well. Assignments given will require lots of extra reading and critical thinking. Though challenging, I feel supported by having great facilities such as 24/7 libraries, computer rooms and student services. However, as mentioned in the title, this is a very research-intensive programme and university generally, so it will only suit those who enjoy spending hours studying and reading.
View moreI studied Medical Physiology and Therapeutics and I was very surprised and happy by the attention and focus that the faculty had on students. Not only were lecturers eager and available to help but the facilities offered by the university and the atmosphere of the campus is the most welcoming setting I could have expected.
View moreHaving visited several universities, I chose Nottingham University because it is such a lovely place to be and I preferred the campus with halls and departments quite close to each other, rather than living in a city centre and using public transport to get to lectures. Get yourself a bicycle and you have the freedom to cycle around campus, visit your friends in different halls or cycle down the hill to lectures. Oh of course, then there’s the cycle back uphill when you’re tired after lectures! The library is open 24/7 which is an amazing bonus for the night owls and insomniacs. As a Biology student, I loved the diverse interests of my lecturers and professors from Neurobiology to Parasitology topics which still interest me to this very day. Next door to the campus is Wollaton Park with its herd of deer and miles to cycle and walk around on a sunny summer’s day. Also, Wollaton Hall is now Nottingham Natural History Museum with plenty to see and do. In summary, Nottingham is like a student town, the campus with a 25-minute walk to the city centre for nightlife, restaurants and shopping. What better way to study for your degree and lay the perfect foundation for your future!
