I’m really enjoying studying Forensic Science at Northumbria University. The course combines academic learning with practical experience, which makes it much more engaging and helps you understand how the knowledge from lectures can be applied in real situations.
The course is ranked among the top 25 Forensic Science courses in the UK, and I think the practical focus is one of its biggest strengths. We learn the theory through lectures and then have opportunities to put that knowledge into practice through laboratory practicals and case re-enactments. This helps develop both technical skills and problem-solving abilities while giving a better understanding of how forensic science is applied in real cases.
I also appreciate the variety of topics covered throughout the degree, which has allowed me to explore different areas of forensic science and develop a broad scientific foundation.
Overall, I would recommend Northumbria to students interested in Forensic Science, particularly those who enjoy learning through a combination of theory and hands-on practical work.
View moreEven with the pandemic, I’ve enjoyed my university experience so far! Throughout the pandemic, our lecturers and personal tutors have been by our sides to support us and our work. They have done their best to make the subject as interesting as possible, and I find it easier to use the pre-recorded lectures because I can catch up and pause it whenever I need to! I believe the pandemic had an impact on everyone’s social life, but the university has still organized online events for students to participate in and socialize with other students. This could include online quizzes, readathons, modpods, and so on.
