According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.

As an Advertising student I have access to printing labs, film workshops, painting classes, Adobe courses and more. which allows me to truly broaden my hard skills strengthening my resume, ultimately assisting me in increasing my employability upon graduation. Specifically with my program, I would appreciate a more practical course schedule than theoretical as I believe it would help me gain hands-on experience with job-like projects.

View moreI would definitely recommend studying at LCC because of the story support system that is given to us, from the tutors from the industry, having workshops to enhance our skillsets to having creative opportunities for us as a stepping stone such as the Arts Temp. Not only that, they have types of equipment for us to rent to do our personal projects.
It’s definitely a school that will support your creative career even if you feel that you might have the skillset yet. Not only that, there are so many mini pop-ups every now and then, which is nice and there is never really a dull moment in school.
Definitely highly recommend it and know that you are in for a good learning experience.

Lectures are extremely engaging and informative, providing me with all the information I need for a successful start in my PR career. Seminars develop your creative skills and bolster your motivation for improvement via constant detailed feedback from tutors. I have been taught vital key skills, such as how to create a video, audio, web and written content, closely managed by professionals who have worked in the field. However, sometimes content can be a little unclear in the unit specification. This is however very quickly and professionally rectified through lecturers and tutors, who strive to ensure we have a developed understanding of this content.

However, the University of the Arts London (UAL) was an obvious choice for me when I decided to pursue a post-graduation and here’s why.
-As an international student I definitely sought after credentials and UAL is the 2nd university in the world ranking for art and design
– Most colleges end their semesters with long essays and dissertations, however, UAL’s MA Advertising focused on honing your existing strengths and building a compelling portfolio
– The course promoted studying outside the four walls of your classroom
– Professors and the staff were the first points of contact who aided everyone and anyone
– Live briefs were a crucial part of the course that were used as opportunities to network and communicate with clients in the real world
– Whether it was knowledge, career support, or supplies the resources at our disposal were endless
– Furthermore, the integrated college system allowed students to explore a world other than their specialisation
– The course connected us to an extensive alumni network who solved my many queries and provided referrals whenever necessary
– The weekly assignments kept me on my toes and prompted me to think on cue challenging my creative and critical thinking skills
– The overall structure of the course has helped me enhance imperative skills that’ll aid me in my journey to work as a creative strategist and create adverts which will appeal to a global market
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed every second of my time at UAL and found myself taking shape as an employable professional who can step into the industry and solve business problems.
Lastly, the best part of being at UAL was – it always felt like I belonged here and I was always treated like a professional who was already in the industry and held the ability to produce revolutionary work.
Amazing facilities but could be easier to book. Tutors don’t give much feedback and we barely had classes on the last year. A lot of independence which can be good and bad. Very short deadlines for intense projects and need to invest a lot of your own money to make them happen.
