The University of Roehampton allows students from many backgrounds, nationalities, and academic backgrounds, which makes it an exciting and diverse environment. My favourite aspect of the university is its selection of organisations and societies that anyone is open to joining. For instance, I have been a part of the Vegan Society and Growhampton, an ecojustice organisation that educates the campus community on how to grow their food. The societies and programs offer students many opportunities to meet new people, learn skills that can enhance their academic and career abilities, and improve their mental and physical well-being.
One issue with the university is that the classes lack academic difficulty. Even in my third year, my course load was small, and I had only one or two major assessments throughout each term. The workload and hardship of the course materials need to improve.
The campus is very modern, with many new buildings, including a state-of-the-art library and multiple cafes open to anyone. There is an independent vegetarian cafe in the center of campus that offers sustainable foods and drinks. Many members of the university community spend time in the cafe, socialising and working. The classrooms are clean and contain comfortable seating.
I would recommend this university to international students with a weaker academic background. If you want a flexible, social environment, this is the uni for you!
Everything about Roehampton is perfect! The teaching is of a hight class with challenging topics which help to push me out of my comfort zone and explore new areas of my course. The support from staff is amazing with monthly tutor meetings, open office hours and fast email replies. The student life at Roehampton is also something that stands out with safe university run nights out with transport to and from all venues provided. I would definitely recommend this university and all its beautiful campus has to offer.
