    Great Studies

    Academic Programs and Departments:
At King’s Business School, part of KCL University, there are different paths you can choose from. These include Business Management, International Management, Accounting, and Economics. Depending on your preference, you can go into a specific direction or opt for a more open course like mine—Business Management. In this course, each year offers various options ranging from marketing to accounting and economics. The main difference is in years 2 and 3, where each course focuses more on that specific area. I found my course really useful since it covered different subjects in the first year, making it easy for those without prior business studies experience. The course content stays current and the selected readings are up-to-date, always with the latest editions of books and academic material.
    Faculty and Teaching:
The teaching staff is great and offers plenty of chances for feedback during office hours.
    Class Size:
Classes at KBS happen at places like the Strand Building and Bush House across multiple campuses. Class sizes vary, from large auditoriums for mandatory modules, like Strategic Management in year 2, to smaller ones for elective courses.
    Campus Facilities:
The university provides access to fantastic libraries with various study spaces, discussion rooms for group projects, and quiet areas. The Maughan Library stands out for its beauty. There’s also an online library with an extensive collection of books and articles, which is really helpful for research.
    Extracurricular Activities:
There’s a wide range of student clubs to join. Before the academic year starts, a fair is held where you can meet club members and decide which ones to join. These clubs cover various interests from business to sports, hobbies, medicine, science, and cultural groups that can be really comforting for international students.
    Campus Location:
The campus is conveniently located, close to several tube lines like District in Temple, and Northern and Bakerloo lines in Charing Cross. Plus, Covent Garden is nearby with lots of eating places, many offering student discounts through Student Beans or UNiDAYS.

    Business Management Review

At first, I didn’t quite enjoy the programme as our first year (2021 school year) was done mostly remotely, for example our lectures were online while many other courses had in-person lectures. It made it hard to fully integrate ourselves within the university, but now that our lectures are in person, it has been easier to be part of the community and participate in the many opportunities that our university offers to students. It has been great to take part in many different societies as well and play a larger presence in our university’s student body.

    Top educators in their fields

I have been attending King’s for a few months, and so far the social life and the education received have been amazing. The societies are constantly holding events so meeting friends is quick and easy, and with the variety of societies it is very likely you will find something to your liking. Moreover, lecturers are attentive and do their best to accomodate your questions and concerns, making this a well-rounded university experience so far in terms of social life and education.

Great learning environment within and beyond the classroom

In my opinion, the academics at King’s College London are highly challenging and interactive and help students develop many skills. Even the professors are highly qualified. However, I think the university lacks a community feel, perhaps because there is no campus life and accessing student services can prove to be quite difficult.

Great capacity for learning within and beyond the classroom.

My experience at King’s has been really good so far. The academics are challenging and professors are highly qualified however the student services can be difficult to access and since it is not a campus university, it lacks a certain community feel.

    Classes

I love that the buildings are located all around the city, making London the campus. Non-mandatory attendance is a great thing in the program. The administration of the school is slightly chaotic and exam results are always delayed.

King’s is a very diverse and interactive university

I really appreciate that KCL is a university with a wide variety of societies to join. There all kinds of interesting events and groups to join. I’m also impressed with the fact that the student union is reflective of the university’s diverse student groups. The buildings are very nice and so are the professors and teachers, which is quite helpful. There is also the fact that lectures are video taped and put up on each course’s page and so if anyone misses a lecture they have easy access to all of the information discussed in the lecture. One issue is that I have with KCL is the fact that The business building has limited space and it is extremely crowded so it makes it difficult for me to find space to study sometimes. Also some teachers are not very good at explaining things during lectures (not all lecturers are charismatic or good at public speaking even if they are smart) some are better One to one.

    Extracurricular opportunities

I would definitely recommend studying at KCL: I particularly enjoyed my 2 study abroad experiences as well as the projects I undertook outside of my studies (from consulting to various societies). I believe my experience was less built by my academic studies as I didn’t find all my modules equally stimulating.

    Teaching quality

Great university with plenty of resources for self-improvement from library services to IT and teaching quality in lectures/tutorials. Intellectually stimulating modules with focus on real-life examples particularly during the last year.

Some of my teachers were inspirational

I met great people and was really inspired by some of my teachers. My last year was probably the hardest but most rewarding year. I’m glad I chose Kings although I would have preferred the teaching aspect if they had instilled closer relationships between students and teachers.
