My experience at BPP university was amazing. Its study pattern is structured in a way that gives you the idea of practicing law in real life. Scenario based study really helped me in understanding the UK law.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to study at the BPP University as its employability rate is really high, and its career department is the best of all.
View moreBPP University is an outstanding institution that has developed substantially over the last few years. The University appoints solicitors and barristers in order to help students achieve an outlook of the career path they have chosen. The University uses a different range of resources and provides students with all the study books for the academic year. On the other hand, I feel that the university can benefit from a better virtual staff environment. Since 2020 the University has been very unresponsive to student needs.
View moreA huge selling point for BPP is that classes are conducted in a small group, classroom setting. This makes it easy to ask questions and clarify information and also encourages high levels of engagement from students. Furthermore, the central location of the university provides an exciting environment for learning and socialising in the evening, in the heart of the capital.
View moreThe uni provides minimal information, they don’t proofread their materials so everything has mistakes including exam questions. They don’t tailor the coursework to the work we do at our firms and they don’t provide examples of what we need to provide.
View moreThe PGDL is a newly developed course. It replaces the GDL and it’s designed to support and prepare students for the new SQE 1 & 2 route to law.
I am completing the course remotely. The delivery of live lectures takes place on adobe connect. Lectures are mostly engaging, however, connectivity can sometimes be an issue due to the nature of the lectures relying on a good connection on both the lecture and students end.
The lectures could be more student-centered with the use of more student involvement however this is at the tutors’ discretion and not all tutors adopt engaging practices.
In terms of assessment and feedback, I am happy with the standard of the feedback. The assessments are clearly outlined, including exam material being available with lots of time to revise and an open book policy for all exams. The feedback is thorough and offers ways you can improve your grade.
There is an ongoing issue with tutors leaving BPP, there have been several tutors that have left the institution whilst I have been a student there. However, learning hasn’t been disrupted by this (so far).
Overall, I am satisfied with the course. There have been some occasional teething issues, and I think BPP should use another platform to deliver their online lectures, but this is the only concern I have. Other aspects of being a student with BPP are mostly satisfied.
