What Is an International Business Degree?

Globalisation strengthens the connection between companies from all over the world. It is time people understand the importance of international business.

International business degrees are shaped to give students practical knowledge about different business management practices from all over the world. In addition, candidates are prepared for business careers abroad or in organisations that are engaged in business on a global scale.

Moreover, international business is vital in order to understand different cultures and mindsets and ultimately become a global citizen.

Benefits of an International Business Degree

A degree in International Business prepares you for a job in a culturally diverse business environment, which means that any graduate can benefit from opportunities in any country.

The advantage of an International Business course is that you are highly employable for most industries since the majority of skills acquired are transferable.

Candidates studying international business will also gain information and insight about the difficulties of starting and growing businesses from different countries, something which is of utmost importance for anyone who wants to make their business thrive.

International Business Degree Structure

International Business is usually a three-year commitment, depending on each university. Lately, there are institutions which offer the possibility of having a ‘sandwich course’, which basically enables the candidates to work abroad for one year in the industry, as part of their studies.

The purpose of the ‘sandwich course’ is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and work in a different culture and environment. In this way, they will understand other mentalities, as well as gain relevant working experience in the field.

    International business

The University of Lincoln is offering Msc International business as a full-time program. The program holds a variety of courses to make the understanding of students strong about the concepts of business. Every course has a seminar and a lecture in which the whole components of the course are supposed to cover. Overall, it’s a good experience and you get to know vast knowledge. The University of Lincoln is a central part of Lincoln and is one of the main attractions there. Plus, the university of Lincoln is one of the top-ranked universities in Europe. The staff and the teachers are very friendly and are always there to help you in person or through emails.
The only thing that saddens me about the university is that there are fewer accommodations and job opportunities for students especially those with families (as per my experience) and therefore students have to travel from other cities to Lincoln.
Overall, it’s a good experience and if you want to study at the University of Lincoln then it’s a good option.

    Great campus with excellent facilities

The Law course was structured well and delivered by lecturers who had various backgrounds (academics and former practitioners). Feedback was given throughout the year and some modules were made so that a portion of the final grade was made up out of seminar contributions – this was beneficial as it encouraged student participation which made seminars more enjoyable.

There are a number of careers events and guest lectures, including excellent networking events organised by the Law Society at Lincoln. These have certainly helped me secure a training contract at a regional solicitor’s firm.

The Law School also offers a number of study abroad programmes, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying in Germany.

    days at university campus

University days at Lincoln were full of books and combined study secessions and Friday nights out. All the university students were seen on different nights out and fun days most year but you would know when the exams are close and the end of term is near, a small group of students will be seen everywhere sharing notes and studying. Especially law students, we had so much to share and discuss always. the overall university had a very organised system and a very active student union like many other universities in England. all the lecturers were mostly available and communicated well with the students but then again I can only explain the law department and lecturers.

Up-and-coming university in a beautiful city

Set against the backdrop of Lincoln Cathedral, the University of Lincoln is a relatively new institution in a vibrant and historic city.

With everything in walking distance, the campus is extremely accessible and a night out never requires a taxi. A close community is formed among students across all years, creating a dynamic atmosphere that encourages development and character building.

Academically, the University of Lincoln is on the rise. New courses are on offer each year and the courses that are already established are taught by industry leaders and backed by a fantastic 24 hour library.

Communication between lecturers and students isn’t always great, however more proactive individuals won’t find this a problem. Due to relatively small seminars and lectures, I never had an issue meeting one-on-one with my tutors when I needed to. Everyone knew everyone and this really works in your favour as the exam and dissertation period looms.

There’s a wide variety of student housing available, and I’d definitely recommend connecting with people before you move in to break the ice ASAP. The prominent student area, West Parade, is a safe bet when it comes to finding a nice area that’s close to the centre and your course building.

Overall, the University of Lincoln is a close-knit community that nurtures academic and personal development in a truly lovely city that you’ll be excited to call home.
