A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
The campus is huge and the lecturers are friendly and caring. I tried the stone lithography class but I’m not sure if it’s still available. There’s a small town around the campus which I visit frequently. The bus ride is pretty steep though.
View moreLoughborough University has been a transformative experience for me, offering a great balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and personal growth. Following are some key aspects of my experience.
The academic structure is well-organized, with a strong focus on practical learning and industry relevance. My Marketing Management course has been challenging yet rewarding, with modules like Principles of Marketing and Quantitative Methods providing a solid foundation.
Professors are knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to provide support during office hours or via email. However, some modules can feel more theory-heavy than practical, so it’s important to balance your independent learning e.g., gaining experience with class content.
The campus is one of Loughborough’s highlights, with the facilities being state-of-the-art, including the library, student union, and sports centers. The student union is particularly active, offering a variety of clubs and societies to get involved in. Whether you’re into sports, arts, or academic clubs, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re into sports, Loughborough is second to none. The university’s reputation as a top sports institution is well-deserved. Even as someone who doesn’t play competitively, I’ve enjoyed the gym facilities and intramural sports. The emphasis on health and fitness is inspiring.
The student community is welcoming and diverse. Making friends and building connections is easy, whether through your course, halls of residence, or extracurriculars. That said, the social scene is what you make of it. Loughborough is quieter compared to big cities, so if you’re expecting a bustling nightlife, you might need to adjust your expectations. However, there are still plenty of events and activities organized by the student union.
The campus is in a small town, which has its pros and cons. It’s calm and safe, ideal for focusing on studies, but it’s not as vibrant as bigger cities. Leicester and Nottingham are nearby, so you can explore more urban settings when needed. Transport links are decent, with buses and trains making it easy to travel.
Loughborough University is a fantastic place to study if you value a close-knit community, outstanding facilities, and a strong emphasis on personal and professional development. While it may not have the buzz of a city university, its supportive environment and opportunities for involvement make it a great choice for students who want to excel academically and socially. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded university experience.

View moreMy criteria are to have practical modules and training; therefore, other programs from other universities did not meet my requirements. In the end, I found the modules of Loughborough Univerisity ticked all my list. There are eight modules in total dividing into half of the compulsory and the other half of optional modules. I can broaden my knowledge about strategic marketing management, customer engagement, customer behaviours, and especially the application of recent technologies into marketing.
Impressive Modules:
– Collaborative Project
– Digital Technologies for Market Analysis:
– Digital Practices for Customer Engagement
