Leeds Beckett university blew my expectations out of the water when it comes to the ideal and picturesque university experience. This university has found a way to attract the most warm, kind and inviting people all into one place. There are no two people alike, and this can be seen clearly in the rose bowl (an incredible facility i feel lucky to be studying in) where lifelong friendships have been built with even the most unlikely of pairings. The education we receive is a privilege, female lecturers especially have given me an experience i will never forget, they have built me up and explained there is nothing we cannot do. A truly special experience.

My experience at Leeds Beckett University was challenging from the start. Despite registering for the meet-and-greet service, no university ambassador was present when I arrived, leaving me without detailed instructions. I pursued a Master’s course in Management

Leeds Beckett University has a diverse and inclusive student community with students from all over the world. The University offers various support services to ensure that all students feel welcome and included, including academic, mental health, and disability support.

However, some courses need more resources and support, making students feel overwhelmed and unsupported. The University tries to accommodate students and their situations, whatever they may be; however, it fails to do this correctly, as students feel left out and forgotten.

Overall, I recommend the University; it succeeds in teaching you the practical setting of the course. It strongly prepares you for your future career and boosts your employability. I definitely landed some of my past jobs because of Leeds Beckett University.

My time at Leeds Beckett has been unlike the usual university experience, starting in 2020 I was thrust into university life in the middle of the pandemic and spent my first year completely online. The teaching standard was better than expected. However, to me, the element that stands out the most is the care that all the staff at the University have for the students. As a disabled person who struggles with mental health issues, becoming isolated even more became a really difficult thing for me to deal with. However, there was always someone on hand for me to speak to if I needed them. Whether it is lecturers going over content, or mental health teams organising weekly meetings, I have found that this is the highlight of this university and I haven’t heard of anything like it elsewhere. I am now reaching the end of my final year, and I would be more than happy to recommend this uni to anybody that asked me, and if I could do the whole thing again I would. Through a hard time, I do not think I would have succeeded as far as I have without the help of Leeds Beckett!

Currently in my second year at Leeds Beckett and all I can say is that the lecturers are so supportive. Every member of staff is willing to help anyone to the best of their ability. Can’t ask for anything more from them.

I really enjoyed the course as the modules were both fun and insightful. Each module was varied which allowed me to gain a broader insight into different areas of the marketing field, this has enabled me to explore different career paths. There are also many international students at the university which have allowed me to engage with fellow students from different cultural backgrounds. I also loved the guidance and support given by the university during Covid lockdowns such as the fast responses from the lectures and the extensions offered. However, I do think the course could improve on offering career support, such as helping us practice with interviews and assessment centre tests more. Despite this, I feel confident in progressing with my career after graduating from university due to the knowledge I have accessed from the course.

I love my course so much as it is something. I want to pursue in my life. I have been learning many new different ways to design fashion and I can’t wait for a placement in Paris. I love my course leaders they are very helpful and respectful to all the students. I feel so welcome to Leeds thanks to my course. I am grateful that Leeds Beckett saw opportunity in me and gave me an unconditional offer.
