Studying MSc Marketing at Lancaster University has been life-alteringly both personally and professionally. Not only is the course DMI and CIM accredited but, more importantly, it is designed with a strong practical component, which makes it highly relevant to the real job market.

The highlight of the course for me was that there was a perfect blend of practice and theory. Modules such as Digital Marketing, Brand Strategy, and Consumer Behaviour combined case studies with live projects, where ideas were not just learnt but implemented in real life. Group work was a constant aspect, which was in line with real-life collaboration, and helped refine my skills in campaign planning, data analysis, and presenting insights to diverse groups.

The dissertation also extended this practical emphasis. Rather than an excessively theoretical work, I wrote something that applied marketing theory to real-world issues, allowing me to combine academic excellence with practical understanding. Not only did this extend my research skills further but also allow me to address business problems in a strategic manner — an ability that can be directly applied to marketing, content, and community management functions.

Outside the classroom, Lancaster gave me a supportive environment where I grew as an expert professional and leader. As Graduate College Vice President, I spearheaded campaigns with 500+ students and increased participation by 40%. This gave me first-hand experience working in community building and event marketing, in addition to coursework.

On the whole, I would recommend Lancaster University to those students who look for something beyond school learning. Its career-focused, pragmatic policy, excellent faculty advice, and vibrant student life make it an ideal place to learn and build confidence.

Lancaster University is very unique. Since it is not in a city, it is filled with students, has many accommodations on campus, and is very safe. The campus has a variety of shops that make it feel more like a little town. Everyone is very friendly, and the professors I encountered are very professional and have relevant experience in their teaching courses. The facilities are excellent, and many of the lecture halls are newly renovated and comfy for the students. As a marketing student, I have access to a number of software and different equipment, such as PCs and books, that are needed to complete the assignments. However, there are still a few things to consider. As the campus is not situated in the city, it takes about 20-40 min by bus to get to the city, depending on the time. However, Lancaster is a lovely town that has a market twice a week and is very green. It feels very down to earth, but there is generally little to do. Overall, the university is very lovely, and the professors are good in their teaching subjects. They all have different teaching techniques and attitudes, but they know what they are talking about overall. The university is good nature-wise, has ducks, squirrels, and rabbits roaming around, and there is a lot of other adorable wildlife. There are also lovely places like the botanical garden and the lake where you can sightsee or hang out.

Personally, I am located at the Lancaster University branch in Ghana, I’m quite satisfied with my module, and only in my 2nd year, I have done so many things with it, we have access to many opportunities and it’s an amazing experience overall meeting people from all over the world. The only I would say about my course is the wish for it to be updated, since Marketing is always evolving and just like any other academia.

Prior to gaining admission into Lancaster University, I had always wished to attend this prestigious institution, so gaining admission was indeed a delight. The best part of this university is the way and manner in which knowledge is imparted in students. This university prepares student for real life situations with it’s practical teaching to cope with world events and situations and this makes it every student’s dream.

The module design for every business course is amazing and well-structured. Staffs are helpful with quick responses and organized with every agenda. Especially the marketing courses, rated very high globally.

I think Lancaster University is a very good university with a very strong business department. In addition, the school provides students with a lot of career help, such as one-to-one career planning, specialized job search and resume modification courses. I think the school is very helpful to students in terms of careers. Overall, I like this school very much.
