The best thing about the university is the reputation. I think it really helped me stand out as a candidate when looking for a job. Also, the facilities were great – we had our own flight simulator in the aeronautics department for example. It’s also really nice to be around other students that are very good and passionate about the degree subject because it inspires and helps you get better when working with them. Clearly, there’s a lot of work to do and the level is really high, so you have to be very dedicated to the degree to do well, so your social life might be a bit compromised. But the only negative thing that surprised me is that with some professors there’s a lack of support, as they need to keep the degree competitive and so they can’t help you much. They’re also very busy with their own research so it’s hard to find the time to meet with them sometimes, and tutorial sessions can be rare.
