I studied at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, completing the MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems, and it was truly a great experience for me. The university provided me with strong knowledge in my field, while also helping me grow personally in a modern and supportive environment. The lecturers were excellent and always willing to help, and the program was very well structured with a strong practical focus. I feel very grateful for the opportunity to study in Glasgow, and it has been an important step in my journey.
View moreI enjoyed the time I spent at this university thanks to the excellent academic and administrative staff.
However, the academic level for this course can be very confusing, with some modules offered jointly with undergraduate programmes or are repetitions of undergraduate modules, and others delving into advanced topics with little to no introduction with unclear lecture notes. This can be challenging for international students such as myself.
I also think that the induction sessions provided to international students are insufficient in providing a firm background on engineering sciences in the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, the courses outlined in the programme catalogue are not always available, which can be a disappointment if you had chosen to study there for a specific module/lecturer. You should also prepare to be disappointed if you have very high expectations in terms of marking and feedback.
Overall, if you want to specialise in a certain area, I would suggest other programmes. However, if you want a good overview, and don’t mind a few sleepless nights, I highly recommend it!
