Now that face-to-face learning is occuring for this academic year, so far the university and its community has been treating my social capability and academic setting pretty comfortably good! As an undergraduate student, I look forward on staying in the university until the end of my degree.
View moreI think the school is good for someone who is either working on doing a lot of other things on the side. If you are looking for an all inclusive type of university experience then this place is not for you.
View moreI have been enjoying my time at the university. Although it lacks a great deal of diversity, everyone got on pretty well together. I would recommend the university. There were many events and volunteer opportunities given here. Things were not too hectic and I am enjoying my university life.
View moreThe psychology department is one of the best at the university. Equipped with good professors who teach students not only about theories but have also incorporate real life examples. They are also approachable and are always open to giving students feedback
View moreFrom the staff to the students Heriot-Watt university has a very friendly and welcoming community. Education wise they offer us some of the best quality material and access to thousands of resources. All of my lecturers have been very well experienced. I study psychology so I can only speak for my department but I can’t say I’ve heard any complaints from any of my friends in other departments. I study in the Dubai campus and I wish we had more facilities and equipment as in the main campus in the uk and that’s one way I’d say the Dubai campus runs short. However they constantly listen and try to provide solutions to student requests. The student council is also constantly trying to engage the students in a variety of social activities because afterall university is more than just formal education our social lives are of an equal importantance. Overall I am very satisfied with the university and I proudly carry the name everywhere I go
View moreI was at the Dubai campus. Here are the things I wish I would have better exposure with:
1. Psychological labs: introduction to different types of psychological testing methods, softwares, face recognition softwares.
2. Opportunities to get a clinical placement internship opportunity, as a part of the program course.
3. I wish the degree in Dubai campus would also be BPS (British Psychology Society) recognized. That plays a very important role, and one of the biggest reasons why many psychology graduates choose UK universities.
4. Wish we had more optional course modules available that we could take up for extra credit: like forensics, biology, english, fundamentals of neuroscience. We only had business related optional courses (organizational skills).
View moreLack of facilities in the psychology department like a psychology lab. There was no structure and chaos regarding the fourth year dissertation. The psychology society had limited number of students which left the other students with less opportunities.
View moreHeriot-Watt University has really helped me gain knowledge in different aspects of my field and has given me the right support I need to perform well! I would recommend this university to anyone looking for a well-rounded education and fun at the same time;)
View moreThe teachers have been very engaging with the students and incorporate material that have been learnt into real life settings as well.
An aspect to be considered is to have few quizzing sessions During class to make sure students have understood the concept well.
Heriot Watt is an excellent university that provides stellar education and exposure. I like the people here and I also really like the teaching styles of the professors. I would definitely recommend.
