A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
A humble experience with a globally recognised University, the tutors are extremely helpful, and navigating the learning platform is intuitive.
They don’t have written exams for this course, rather they assess assignments and discussion forums.
The university is a great university. They have all the resources you could ever need including an Albert scholm library. All the lectures are put online and can be reviewed after the lecture has been done. Also, any additional work that they would advise will be found on this online platform too. They have really thought about what would benefit students. The only thing I dislike about the university is how old the buildings look from the outside, it isn’t very modern but that is part of their USP. I would definitely recommend this university.
View moreI think that the university of Essex, helps and prepares you as much as they can throughout the year but also, for your upcoming assignments. They advise you what they would do if they was in your position, and also advise what may be not as necessary. The lecturers provide essential readings and information to complete every week. The essiental information can be the lectures PowerPoints and notes therefore, you can always go back to what was looked at in the lecture and add to your notes or revisit if you found a section difficult. They also have ebooks and online learning platforms which I think is really helpful to widen your studies beyond the lectures and seminars.
View moreI really like the environment. I like the buildings too. The accommodations are really nice. They have lots of activities for students . The education system is great too and I’ve been here for about a month . I’ve enjoyed my time so far here.
View moreThe staff are helpful and approachable. The best aspect is that it’s a very diverse university where you can meet people all around the world which is great for international students. They also have a great student union. Colchester is a lovely place to study. There is a lake and water fountain on campus and lots of green areas, which is perfect for when the weather gets warmer. The overall facilities are great as well.
