BIMM is a well-connected, multi-faceted industry collective with a variety of degrees and opportunities to engage with. The problem I find, as an international student not from Europe, is that a lot of that experience is tailored towards people with different work restrictions. As an international student, you have to prioritise permanent employment post graduation and while BIMM is making strides forward in that pursuit, you will be largely on your own in that mission. It’s difficult to engage in more creative fields like performance degrees or production degrees when the potential of getting non-freelance employment is small, so it may be a case of diversifying your work experience during university enough, so that you can find employment in your field later. This is something every International student applying for a creative degree in the UK should keep in mind.
