The MBBS program meets international standards. The curriculum is up to date and at or above most international standards. GMU provides a network of clinics and hospitals for its students to practice. Most teachers are knowledgeable about their subjects and are able to teach. Due to most students heading home after uni students life is not up to the mark. Ajman is also an industrial city, therefore there is not much to do in immediate proximity.
View moreLack of space in the university .. it’s over crowded .. lack of facilities .. like free basket ball courts , billiards , table tennis etc ..
Most of the teachers are really nice which really keeps the university going
It’s too expensive .. as if we are buying our degree
As an international student, I personally think GMU is great. The faculty are good, the facilities are of a great standard and the student life is great. Situated away from the glamorous Dubai, Ajman is less urbanized and peaceful. I would recommend this university to anyone keen on exploring the medical field.
View moreHighly competent and science liberate clinical equipped to practice person-centered medicine in the constant changing world. Students learn and get trained from many different hospitals who provide general and tertiary medical care to patients.
View moreThe teachers put a lot of effort and passion into teaching, but the facilities and general campus could be improved. The website is sometimes slow and glitchy and is not always organized. The university does provide access to certain databases which do help with learning
View moreThe Gulf Medical University Ajman is a well established university in the UAE. It has long going pedigree of successful students and has a name for itself in the Middle East as one of the top medical colleges in the Middle East and also has been recognized by Forbes. Apart from fame, the facilities are adequate for students but a little more advancement would be a requirement. The staff are really nice and most of the faculties are really good and understanding and provide a good learning environment for students. The non scholastic area requires serious development and the good news is that the development is in progress as the organisation running the university has an agenda in creating a mini health city. An additional plus point that can be noted is that there is a regular investment into the university by the organisation so the university isn’t a stand still but is under a periodic growth at a steady rate. All students are welcomed here and there is a mixed international community for students. Overall I recommend my university for people aspiring in medical fields.
View moreAs anyone who’s grown up in UAE, I was afraid my school and college life would, somewhere along the way, merge into the same drab experience.
But GMU has opened up so many avenues in terms of future prospectives, cultural activities, campus life and the quality of education I receive in general.
All my professors are available anytime I have a question. They listen to us and take our opinions into account. I can talk to most of them even if I have a problem outside of the course content and I like to think my professors are wonderful for doing that even if they don’t have to.
As far as our labs and other facilities go, we do have a few shortcomings, none that are too drastic. The labs are equipped with multiple microscopes and slides along with cadavers and models. Our library, as small as it is, has ample online supply that we can access if we don’t find our recommended readings there (A rare occurrence)
If you want a wholesome experience while learning and understanding at your own pace, GMU is the place for you.
The professors are good and we do have the basic facilities but compared to what we pay for we barely get anything. Management is bad there is never a proper timing for anything things would change at the most random times including exams.
