In the biology department, undergraduate courses focus more on theory than on experimental techniques. However, there are excellent lab courses that one can take in their 3rd and 4th years.
In my experience the most active lab in the department is the limnology lab which participates in international projects. Anyone having an interest in limnology should absolutely consider applying here.
There are lots of societies and events for students to participate in. Not to mention the various facilities that are available to enrich the experience. The only caveat is that most of these activities are conducted in Turkish and thus a rudimentary understanding of Turkish is important to fully avail these opportunities.
