I completed my PhD at Dokuz Eylül University, and my overall experience was very positive.
As the university is a large institution, my experience was mainly with the Department of Physics, the Faculty of Science, and the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The academic and administrative staff in these units were supportive, approachable, and genuinely committed to helping students and resolving problems.
I am especially grateful to my supervisor, Prof. Muhammad Deniz. He was an excellent supervisor—supportive, flexible, and always willing to help me throughout my doctoral studies. His guidance played an important role in enabling me to complete my PhD. He is also a highly respected researcher in the field of low-energy physics.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I also regularly used the university dining hall. It provided students with good-quality, standard meals twice a day at a very affordable price, which was a valuable service for students.
Completing my PhD would have been much more difficult without the support I received from my supervisor and the university staff. Based on my personal experience, Dokuz Eylül University is a supportive institution that takes students’ academic and practical needs seriously. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to my academic journey.
