Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is a state university with a long history, founded in 1773. ITU offers 104 undergraduate and 191 graduate programs in 14 faculties in the fields of engineering, architecture, science and social sciences. With 2242 academic staff, it provides educational opportunities to 37235 students.

Mechanical engineering is a captivating field that impresses with its versatility and innovation. I admire the problem-solving skills it demands, turning engineers into modern-day wizards tackling complex challenges. The collaborative nature and interdisciplinary approach make it a dynamic and essential discipline. Classes at the university are very hands-on, with plenty of practical exercises and lessons that make the material easy to understand. In addition, the continuous assessment system is really helpful in keeping students up-to-date and avoiding last-minute stress.
Regarding accommodation, I shared an apartment with a local student. This was a wonderful experience, as it helped me to adapt to the new culture and get to know the city better. We connected on Facebook and spoke over video calls before moving in together.
