ITU, especially Electronics and Communications Faculty has really impressive and well-qualified professors however the quality of education is not as impressive as it’s academic staff. If you choose take a look at the branches you can move on and the professors in those branches. From my observations nobody cares about the quality of education here and cheating is tolerated by staff mostly unless there is a complaint. But in the meanwhile if you want to specialize in a field of your major, you can always find helpful academic staff and students. For social life in campus, there is a no-alcohol policy but you can always bring your own 🙂 It has lots of green fields and woods and also it has student clubs for many hobbies which you can find people with common interests but in general I recommend outside of the campus for social life for the sake of school-life balance, except student clubs for extreme sports 🙂

ITU gives you numerous social and educator clubs. Every faculty includes organisations for producing new relationships and products. In first preparation year school gives you good english education. In this year students have free time to join clubs and for self-improvement. After this year faculty lessons start and you can gain experience from social activities and career stuff.

ITU really teaches you about everything from technical skills to soft skills. You enter as a rookie and then finish school as a master. And our student clubs… They do everything you can imagine. Last week my idol came and gave a speech on zoom. ITU really is the place where you find your family and decide your career path accurately.

Instructors are friendly, caring. In the first years of education, the students of my department could be dispersed 1 less because the pool lessons are predominant. Clubs intrigued me, most of the interactions as if family. I haven’t seen the campus life yet, but I guess it will be beautiful.

Actually, Education is not bad but it is not good. My university is so good about job opportunities. Its name is good. I can find a job easily. Also, my friends are so good at Istanbul Technical University. SO I love ITU

The quality of education is on a great level but the social structure between the students could use some work. Both the resources and professors offer a lot in terms of education. An improvement in the social life would have been nice though.

First of all, ITU was founded in 1773, and the university has been always attractive for centuries. If someone wanna be an engineer, ITU would be the goal of the student. I was also interested in EECS topics, and I became a student of ITU in 2016. I was living in a little town in Turkey, then I was shocked when I see the campus, faculties, especially student life. In my first year, I studied English preperation class for a year, so I had more free time for activities. There are more than 100 student associations in ITU, now I am a member of Electrical Engineering Students’ European Association. I am aware of the importance of personal improvement, and I have done organizational positions, and also I took many soft skills trainings. Why I wrote these is, every engineer can improve theirselves as technical, but the point is soft skills. There are many opportunities in ITU that students benefit.
About academics, every faculty has more professors than other universities in Turkey, but I generally cannot be satisfied about quality of classes. Many academics are good at topic, but they don’t know how to deliver the information. As I can see, it is one of the general problems in Turkey. But we have the freedom for professor and class selection, so generally we take courses that we would like to study.
To sum up, I take many advantages of being a part of ITU, and also it is so easy to expand business network if you are enterprising. I am proud to be a student of Istanbul Technical University.

I started at ITU in 2016 and I started with English Preparatory. I did not like the English preparation of my school because normally classes should be full of English. I mean everybody should speak English and hear English or write English. To improve language skills these are necessary things. I think ITU should fix this problem to teach better English to students. After preparation I started my programme. Professors are great in ITU. Their knowledge is great and they are good at transferring their information to students. Students are always active for their courses. However, in my opinion, there is one problem. It is English, again. During the classes use of English is not good. All in all, I recommend ITU to students, which are dreaming to study engineering and robotics. Facilities and technical devices are great in ITU. Reaching knowledge is easy.
