Bilkent is, unarguably, one of the best universities in Turkey. And I am going to explain why. Over the years, Bilkent has set a high education standard which not only focuses on giving the technical knowledge to the students but also prepares them for the upcoming challenges in the professional world.
With over 1000 international students coming from over 70 countries, Bilkent has a diverse student body. Student-run clubs such as Bilkent International House and South Asian Cultural Club helps you meet people of different cultures and give birth to friendships that you would end up cheering for the rest of your lives.
The moment you step out of campus, you would realize how great the language barrier is in Turkey for those who do not speak Turkish. However, Bilkent’s renowned English preparatory school and strict policies to conduct lectures only in English make it really easy for international students to communicate with fellow students and professors. With that said, language barrier still becomes a reason for international students to miss out some great seminars and activities held at Bilkent and/or outside.
In the last three years, I have met students from various universities in Turkey. Those meetings have only made me realize what a blessing the campus life at Bilkent is. With high-speed internet, heating facilities, kitchen equipment and etc., the rooms and facilities provided at dormitories are second to none. All of these facilities are provided at no additional charges. With supermarkets and shopping malls just minutes away from the campus, students have access to almost everything.
I think if you are an international student and planning to come to Turkey, Bilkent is the place for you. The university is very generous when it comes to awarding merit scholarships at the time of admission, so that makes it the perfect package.
To conclude, if you come to Bilkent, it won’t be easy. There will be many sleepless nights to prepare for your exam or sitting with your friends working on a project. But in the end, it is all going to be worth it.
View moreI am personally having a great time in Bilkent. The bus transportation that the university provides its students is such a privilege. It’s so convenient to travel to different places in the city. The campus is also really beautiful. If you are a social person, you’re gonna enjoy all the social events that take place on campus. Even if you aren’t social, it’s a good place to explore yourself. Bilkent also has a really big library which is such a treat for readers. If you’re an international moving to bilkent, it might be a bit hard for you at first as people outside the campus don’t really speak English but you can learn a bit of turkish and you are good to go. The curriculum also offers turkish so that makes it easier for students to learn it.
