Globalisation strengthens the connection between companies from all over the world. It is time people understand the importance of international business.
International business degrees are shaped to give students practical knowledge about different business management practices from all over the world. In addition, candidates are prepared for business careers abroad or in organisations that are engaged in business on a global scale.
Moreover, international business is vital in order to understand different cultures and mindsets and ultimately become a global citizen.
A degree in International Business prepares you for a job in a culturally diverse business environment, which means that any graduate can benefit from opportunities in any country.
The advantage of an International Business course is that you are highly employable for most industries since the majority of skills acquired are transferable.
Candidates studying international business will also gain information and insight about the difficulties of starting and growing businesses from different countries, something which is of utmost importance for anyone who wants to make their business thrive.
International Business is usually a three-year commitment, depending on each university. Lately, there are institutions which offer the possibility of having a ‘sandwich course’, which basically enables the candidates to work abroad for one year in the industry, as part of their studies.
The purpose of the ‘sandwich course’ is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and work in a different culture and environment. In this way, they will understand other mentalities, as well as gain relevant working experience in the field.
I would highly recommend especially in a student city. The course organisation is very clear and the content is relevant. It also is nice how exams are every 4 weeks which helps to stay in line with your studies
View moreIts a great uni. I really enjoy the material and the freedom along with the amount of diversity between students. I feel at home and have made friends that are like a second family to me. Highly recommend. However some professors are a bit monotone and boring.
View moreThe university campus is really pretty but it was not as international as I originally suspected. Nevertheless, it is not impactful whatsoever! everyone is friendly. However, I am dissatisfied with some of the administration problems I faced with little to no help.
View moreI am currently a first-year student taking business in RUG. I am not fully content with the way the university handles course changes. Especially because I wanted to change to Biology 2 weeks into the course but the uni did not let me, therefore I am stuck in business until Fall 2022.
View moreAlthough I am in my 2nd Bachelor’s year, I can confidently say that the university provides you with a wise paradigm, backed by scientific research, that helps you understand the business world and its ever-expanding complexities. The course of International Business expands on your established understanding of business by demonstrating the interconnectedness of the globalized world and simplifying it into a model that you can apply in your future career.
View moreUniversity of Groningen (RUG) implements critical thinking and comes up with unique solutions to strenuous problems. As an International Business student, I am being prepared for a wide range of job opportunities in the field of management. The university provides highly qualified professionals, satisfying facilities, and an incredible international environment. However, the location can be improved since Zernike Campus is 4 km away from the city centre. Keep in mind that the university does not help you with the accommodation and it is up to you to find a place to stay!
View moreI started my masters course in February 2022. I am fairly new to this city and the University but so far, I have had excellent support and assistance from all the staff members from administration to my lecturers. I was unable to figure out how to operate ‘nestor’ to register for my modules but thanks to the support from my course coordinator and the help desk for sorting out my issue.
In addition, the business school is truly the right place if you want to jumpstart your career because of the opportunities such as the internships programmes.
I really like to study at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. I feel like the communication is right and I also have the idea that everyone feels welcome over here. I think that is a really important thing to have as a university. There are probably a lot of things that could be better but compared to my other schools etc. I think the RUG is doing really great overall.
View moreGood university in a fantastic city. A very international approach with the best professors in their field. Besides this, the city Groningen is the best student city in the Netherlands. So I would highly recommend to study here.
View moreThe University is very research focused. There is not much practical focus. You really develop good analytical skills. However there is not that much attention accounted to Skills besides those analytical or research skills. I would like to have the option and the support of the University to pursue an internship during my bachelor studies. It would be nice as this would be the perfect addition to the many other theoretical skills we get to learn in the various courses and be able to apply everything learned in the real world. Furthermore I believe it is the paste of time that many employers value Work experience. Therefore I believe this would help students from my university to succeed even more as graduated to find jobs on the market.
