My overall experience was challenging! I study a Master in development at the International Institute of Social Studies. The Master excelled my expectations with intensive learning, lecturers, tasks and the content professors delivered. The lessons were completely related to the academic jobs, and the courses open my panorama. However, the program made me re-evaluate my career. I learned about policy analysis, value chains, local development. But, I did not learn technical skills, which are highly demanded for companies, NGO’s and Governments. The institute is very research-oriented and students do not have access to practical experiences.
View moreFocus on critical analysis, creative thinking, practical learning experience, challenging learning environment, wide multicultural exposure.
I would definitely recommend this university as it has met all of my learning expectations.
I loved everything about my University. EUR was a wonderful place to be even though I spent all my time in The Hague where my faculty was located as the International Institute of Social Studies(ISS). There was a very unique academic atmosphere. The faculty was amazing and world-class experience of it was amazing. The atmosphere is very international as well. I’ve graduated with students from 55 different nationalities. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who’s willing to expand their horizon and network.
View morethey have some great facilities. the buildings could ve better but the eating areas are amazing and cheap. the sports complex is really modern which is nice. I think the tutors are fine but they could be better.
View moreI applied to ERSM for my master’s program after my bachelor in the United Kingdom. Overall, I am happy about my choice. The university by itself provides all variety of support for students. I was extremely satisfied with all the networking and career-oriented events.
View moreI am doing my Bachelors in the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and it has been exactly like I expected it to be, in the introduction days I was able to have a good idea what my next years would be like. I had a very first good impression and I would definitely recommend it for a friend, it’s for sure a life-changing experience. One of the things that attracted me the most in the Uni is the opportunity to go on exchange for 5 months during the program, in many different countries all around Europe. The campus is very big and has a very modern aspect to it, while my erasmus university in Lisbon (Católica) has a very old and small campus. I have had courses like Marketing, Finance and Entrepreneurship, and they were very interesting and applied to the real market. They have lots of student associations and clubs, so it’s really easy to get to know new people. The university offers some kind of support but it is mostly down to your social skills whether you are able to find accommodation, and it’s also not so cheap. The night life is not so great, but there are always parties at the student houses. And further advice for future students would be to save some money before coming to Rotterdam, it is expensive!
View moreIHS is a wonderful school with down to earth and specialised faculty in housing and urban development. The short courses are very organised and make sure your time is managed effectively. The style of education in Europe I found was very practice and less theoretic which I really appreciate.
View moreI like friendly atmosphere and helping faculty and staff. My department of IHS is known to be the best place to study Urban Management systems. It is one of the pioneers and most prestigious institute where students from developing countries can learn and explore new strategies about urban designs and systems.
View moreI like it because the university is very international. Moreover, the program I’m doing (IBA) is varied and interesting.
However, some courses I’m taking are too theoretical and are therefore less interesting than more practical ones
