Far out from Johannesburg. In a university town. Nice campus, lots of activities and sports. Feels like a real university experience. There’s residences. Everyone is very focused on their academics and having fun. It helps to have a car.

Some lecturers are exceptional and truly invested in student success, while others require you to be more self-driven. The campus stands out for its facilities, libraries, and overall atmosphere, which makes long study hours more manageable.

if you a university with great lectures then come to UP they are the best and love students like their own children the are so opening and welcoming. It has one of the largest library that can accommodate about 4000 at a time

Living in residence also helped me feel part of a close-knit community and made the transition into university life much easier.

Studying at the University of Pretoria was both a fulfilling and demanding journey. I ddn’t get to enjoy this much because the programme I was doing was hard for me and it wasn’t my intial choice. So most of my uni days there were filled with stress and anxiety. I would read and understand the course material but when exams and practicals came I failed to apply the theory. So all in all my experience wasn’t that pleasant academically.

university is a place of growth, requires hard work and dedication but mostly its a time to prepare for a career and the world of work. There is a lot to do and very little time to do it. The Statistics department shows little to no regard for students but despite all the challenges, you persevere and pass the module.

I did BCom Informatics (commerce courses mixed with IT courses like programming).You just need to stay on top of your game. Always! Especially if you wanna be an academic weapon. Your coursework, lecturers and even peers can get overwhelming, but don’t forget to take a breather. Don’t be too much of an academic and let your social life suffer. Choose your circle wisely. If you’re an international student or generally non South African,
you need to work twice as hard to get internships or any jobs in general. Make sure you stand out cause its tough getting a job. You can do this! Fighting!!!
