Had the best time at Wits Medschool for my honors programme. It is such a great institution, everything is well run, the bus systems between the campuses run very well. Overall amazing experience with great resources, lecturers and support system.
View moreOverall I have really enjoyed my time at Wits so far. I’ve received continued support from my university friends, teaching assistants, lecturers and supervisors throughout my school career and that continued support has helped me excel academically. Studying at Wits can be extremely stressful however I believe that that stress only helps you become a stronger individual that is able to handle whatever is thrown at you.

View moreThe University of Witwatersrand is good. It’s a prestigious University that is worldwide renowned, so is definitely recommend it as it opens more opportunities. I like the fact that they’re are so many different people and cultures that you get experience, making it a very enjoyable experience. I however, wish there was not enthusiasm from teaching staff, especially in the health science sector. I am currently a 2nd year Biomedical Science student, and it’s safe to say that watching paint dry might just be more interesting than that Parktown Health Science campus.
View moreThe university is known to produce best graduates due to its challanging curriculum. I mostly enjoyed all the extra curriculum support and mostly the long lasting friendship I forged along the way. I love that the school provided ample support to students outside of academia it came in handy especially considering how difficult navigating university can become.
View moreAll the professors in my program were knowledgeable and all seem to genuinely care about their students. Professors were available to meet outside of class times during their office hours to provide us with additional support.
View moreThere is a very high standard of academic excellence at Wits. I am studying Medicine, and in 3rd year the pass mark is 60%. I like this because it means that the doctors Wits produces will know more than half of what they were taught, at the minimum. However, the flipside of this emphasis on academics means that we don’t get to experience the practical aspects of Medicine until further in our studies, which is different to how other universities do things, so I would like to have more hands-on experience sooner in the course.
View moreThey push us to be the best but they do not care about our mental health. The pressure and the workload is too much. I do recommend it but just make sure that mental health is at its best. You need to be able to work under pressure
