The university is great but I feel they can do more with regards to how they treat students from different cultures other than white and colored. Also their accommodation system is not really the best.
View moreI really love the institution. I think that this university has to be top 5 in the country. There is a variety of people from different cultures and nationality. This university really embraces everything it means to be South African
View moreUWC’s Law Faculty is really committed to social justice, and you genuinely feel that as a student. It shows in the outreach work they do, their focus on assisting indigent communities, and how they constantly encourage us to give back. I also appreciate the support systems in place, like Saturday wellness sessions that show they care about our well-being. That said, it can be very frustrating being here. The workload is heavy, and it often feels like there’s always an assignment due. Resources are sometimes limited too, like struggling to access tests or exam scripts when you need them. On top of that, administrative processes are extremely slow, which feels like an institutional issue across UWC, especially during registration periods and even throughout the academic year.
View moreI am studying LLB at the University of Western Cape.
I am incredibly excited for this new chapter here at UWC. So far, my experience has been nothing short of warm and enjoyable. The place itself is beautiful, and the people have welcomed me with great kindness. I’m really looking forward to what’s ahead both academicallv and sociallv.
They are inclusive. There’s lots of societies to advance and better your educational experience and programmes to give you experience in your field of study. LLB was challenging but the staff really accommodates the students, they provide tutorial sessions to help boost the module performance. Overall it was a great experience.
View moreThis university is all inclusive and welcomes each student warmly. I would recommend this university to everyone as it has the best environment for a student. UWC takes care of our physical and mental wellbeing and provides the best services.
View moreWhile most students from other universities have to pay the registration fee to be able to register for the course. The university of the Western Cape allows students to be financially cleared in order to proceed to register without paying the registration fee. This allows students to be able to seek funds for registration while also studying. This also allows for all students to be afforded the opportunity to study even tho they don’t have means to register at the time of registration.
View moreThe university is filled with people who are always eager to help, from student representatives to tutors to lectures. It is your own responsibility to seek help whenever you need it. I would highly recommend UWC to more especially underprivileged people since fees aren’t that expensive, there are bursary opportunities everywhere and there’s always help.
