I am in my third year here now and gotta say, amongst Polytechnic Universities in Russia, it might be the best one. And the community here is just amazing. Terrible place to go into science though. Nothing too extraordinary comes to mind.

There are many extracurricular opportunities at this university. Many different studios, circles, associations. Choir, dance studio, energy club, EESTEC, BEST, tutors, adapters. You can find any activity you like. Get a very busy student life.
And a fairly large list of universities for exchange semesters and other academic mobility.

There were mostly good, motivated professors in my faculty.
Accommodation for my faculty is 10 dorms. The conditions are good there.

This university not only has a variety of educational programs, but also a whole range of extracurricular activities. The chance to find yourself in something is very high.
But now a rather difficult period of transition to distance learning and the quality of education suffers

People are great. Very decent old school’ish engineering education, sometimes a bit too old school. Still, if one is to be fascinated by drawing every other plot and scheme by hand, this uni is the place. Well, I guess that’s something to keep in mind. How was your day today?

I am studying in the direction of electric power and electrical engineering in the last year of undergraduate studies. A good university, in my speciality one of the best in Russia, has a military department. The university is located at the Polytechnic metro station, far from the historical centre of St. Petersburg, but the university campus itself is a cultural monument. Audiences begin to be repaired, but most of them remain in their original form with ordinary chalkboards and peeling plaster, the main building inside is very beautiful and is being watched. There is also a new research building, all conferences and exhibitions are held in it. The hostels are located at Lesnaya, Ploschad Vuzhstva, Akademicheskaya stations and their condition is not very good, we did the repairs ourselves, most of the hostels are located on Lesnaya and are hostels of the corridor type, the toilet and shower are shared and are on the floor, however, if you are a foreign student you will be accommodated in new block-type hostel (toilet and shower for 2 rooms) within walking distance from the university. Equipment for laboratory work has not been updated since the opening of the university, but slowly new equipment is beginning to appear, despite all this, the equipment is in good condition and fully meets educational goals. Teachers at the university are different, from young graduate students to professors at an age where learning seems easy and somewhere is very difficult, a lot at the university depends on the teacher. In basic subjects they give thorough knowledge and ask in the same way, therefore even if you study poorly, you will know the basics. Student life at the university is rich, an endless number of student associations, ranging from construction teams to international communities such as BEST and EESTEC. There are opportunities for further career, however, a lot depends on the student himself, whether he is active in terms of finding work while studying at career forums, as well as speaking at conferences, cases and contests. To summarize, the University is good, but if your goal is to get a diploma, not knowledge, it is better to go to another university.

After two and a half years of studying at St. Petersburg Peter the Great, I discovered a very large number of non-academic activities that develop personality. Personal growth for every proactive student is inevitable, but the activities of this university can accelerate this process.

Our university is more specialized in different types of engineering. I’m studying electrical engineering and our math course is very strong. We have a lot of profile subjects and they give a really good knowledge of these subjects. Some of our teachers are not very good at teaching but if you are very interested in the subject you have an option to learn more information by yourself.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is the best technical university in St. Petersburg and one of the best universities in Russia. It has a strong teaching base and several new laboratories.
Also, in my opinion, a distinctive feature of SPBPU is a developed student life. On the basis of the university, there are many volunteer organizations that make student life vibrant and interesting. Organizations also help to develop and receive various soft-skills.

Quality of education depends on certain field of studies. In my case it’s quite hard to find a professor at the electrical engineering department who is actually interested in teaching students.
But the student life is great. Lots of options to chose from. And many events are organised by the university.

Peter the Great Polytech University is one of the best technical university in Saint-Petersburg. Due to highly professional tutors and teachers you can achieve all your career purposes. There are a lot of opportunities for your realization in variable spheres: science, creation, cultural activities, earn money if you want it).
To science university has generous number of labs and different forums, events such as “Science week”, “Rectors Cup”, variable case
championships etc.
If you want develop yourself in creation field you should take part in StudClub’s events, you can go to Polygymnia if you want sing as Opera singer
Also you can spent unforgettable summer in Students Squads: become a builder, train conductor, nurse in childrengarden, archeologist, collect fruits and vegetables in sunny Crym…

So, if you’re still thinking about your future you already know right direction. And I absolutely strong in opinion to choose Polytech).
