I cannot speak for all University of Porto since it has many different faculties (with different rules and different environments, at different places, …) and so far I’ve only studied at the Faculty of Engineering. As so my opinion only reflects my experience at FEUP and more specificly my journey with the Bachelor’s in Informatics Engineering.
FEUP is one of the best colleges in Portugal, so there’s many positive points that come along with that title. There are many good professors (some not as good too😅) and they are all very approachable. Of course there are some classes more difficult than others but in general they all require a quite of effort if you want a good grade. In my course almost all classes had at least one pratical team project and two tests or a final theoretical exam (multiple choice usually). This can be very stressful because you’ll always have some deadline coming and sometimes you can feel it is impossible to do everything but don’t give up, everyone is feeling the same and if you are in a good team you will all help each other and things will be done at the end.
FEUP is located at a calm part of the city. It has good access (10 minutes from the metro), there are many offers for rooms near by and it has a good environment in general. The academic life is quite good, with many differents events and the famous FEUP caffe, a party for students almost every thursday nights at FEUP.
Hope to see you there;)
