Innovation and close connection with students

Catholic University of Porto is an excellent educational institution, equipped with various modern facilities and committed to providing high-quality education.
At UCP, all students have the opportunity to learn from some of the leading national experts in their fields. Moreover, not only can they study in their native language (Portuguese), but also in English, reflecting the School’s clear international outlook. This international focus is also reflected in the exchange of students: many national students go to universities around the world, while numerous international students come to UCP, thanks to the partnerships established by the Catholic University under the Erasmus program.
The University promotes high-quality academic learning and is home to a wide range of student organizations and associations, which foster students’ extracurricular development.
These and many other aspects make UCP an institution of excellence.

    Promoting excellence

This university stands out for the close relationship between students and professors, which creates a supportive and engaging learning environment. The quality of teaching is truly excellent, with dedicated lecturers who are not only experts in their fields but also genuinely care about our progress. What I appreciate the most is how practical the education is—rather than focusing only on theory, we are constantly encouraged to apply our knowledge to real-life situations, making the learning experience much more dynamic and relevant to our future careers.

    Great experience, outstanding quality

If you are looking for an university with outstanding quality, then this is your safe bet!
The facilities and outdoor spaces are great (honestly pretty spectacular during the summer months), the staff is very nice and always ready to help and the professors are true experts on the subjects they are teaching. The classes are very interesting, although a bit demanding (which is positive, I believe), are taught with a pratical approach and very engaging. If you want support to understand some topics or even discuss different points of view, the professors are always available and happy to help. Be mindful of your choices regarding dissertation advisors, though, since at this stage the level of support varies a lot from one professor to another.
Campus life is good in general but I have felt that most people do not engage with other colleagues rather than their friends, so it can be challenging when your friends aren’t around.
The library has a spectacular view and you can find almost every book you might be looking for.
Regarding employment after graduation, Catholic University is well-known for its quality but I was expecting better opportunities after I’ve graduated. Even though I had a good average I found the process quite hard. I believe that if you do not build a really strong network, or have one before joining the uni, it can be hard. On the other hand, you can reach out to the careers and employment office and obtain some valuable help.
I enjoyed my years at Catholic University and really miss those times nowadays!

Universidade Católica is not only a school

It is not only a school, its a home. We feel, from the very first day, that we make part of this organization. Teachers, employees, students, all of them stay for life.
All this combined with excellent teaching.

    Amazing

It was an amazing experience to study at Catolica as a Erasmus student. Professors were really nice and helpful but at the same time they teach you a lot in interesting way. I can say that the level of education is high and the professors are really good. Also, university supports Erasmus student by organizing welcome dinners or meetings with local students. I really appreciate the time which I spend at Catolica as a student.

A university with strong career opportunities

This University offers very good career opportunities with graduates well prepared for the job market. Most professors are genuinely interested in students’ learning and are approachable and supportive. Compared to many universities, the courses are more practice-oriented, which help students develop real-world skills and feel confident when entering the workforce.

    Quality Education

The Catholic University of Portugal is a great choice if you’re looking for a quality education with a strong ethical focus. It’s well-regarded, especially in fields like business and law. The community feels supportive, and there are good opportunities for international experiences. It is a bit pricier than public universities, but many students feel it’s worth it for the unique environment and values-driven education.

    Very Nice

I had the privilege of studying Law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto. The academic environment is both rigorous and intellectually stimulating, offering a solid foundation in legal theory while maintaining a strong connection to practice.

One of the unique aspects of studying at Católica is its exceptional location. The campus is situated near the beautiful coastline of Foz, providing a serene and inspiring setting that greatly enhances the student experience. Being able to study just minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean added a distinctive balance between academic intensity and quality of life. Another highlight is the Paraíso Library, a quiet and well-equipped space that quickly became one of my favourite places to study.

What also stands out is the quality of the faculty – highly qualified professionals who are genuinely invested in their students’ development. I had the opportunity to engage in enriching extracurricular experiences.

The University fosters a culture of critical thinking, community, and ethical responsibility – values that are essential for any future legal professional. I look back on my time there with deep appreciation and would strongly recommend Católica to any student considering a future in Law or related fields.

    Very nice.
