Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon - FCUL (reviews)

Perfect fit for students seeking a solid academic foundation within a supportive and vibrant green campus, though less ideal for those wanting a purely corporate, fast-tracked practical education. Offers a highly rigorous and respected scientific education and while the public infrastructure is dated and the bureaucracy slow, the university features an exceptionally welcoming, inclusive, and stress-free social atmosphere.

I like that the University has a long history and very knowledgeable and competent professors. There are good options of canteens near, it is surrounded by other faculties and the I enjoyed greatly joining its musical student group.

Sometimes the classes resources seemed lacking and a more technical approach promoting connections to future employees and allowing an easier entrance on the work market would have been good.

My opinion about FCUL, is that the University has good teachers and staff, even though the facilities are very outdated for some departments.
I had a good experience overall, since my fellow students were all nice and pleasant, and the teachers were dedicated and had good teaching skills. I had a good education experience at FCUL.

I really enjoyed the 3 years I spent taking my Biology bachelor’s at FCUL. I could not have picked a different institution for my bachelor’s. It was an incredible experience, which made me grow into a better adult and person overall. Most of the professors I had were great (save for a few exceptions, as per usual) and the classes were really meaningful. I also had a great time making friends and participating in my department’s Praxe. The experiences I had during those 3 years either in or out of campus, were unforgettable. The only thing I regret was Covid taking away almost half of the time I spent studying there, which completely changed my perspective. However, I think the institution adapted well to me drastic and quick changes.

I really advise people to chose FCUL to pursue their dreams!
