I really enjoyed studying at this university. The professors are knowledgeable and approachable, and the programme content is well-structured and up to date with current industry trends. There are plenty of opportunities for networking and the academic environment is awesome. However, I think the administrative processes could be improved, as they can sometimes be slow. Overall, I would definitely recommend this university to anyone interested in this field.

A pioneering university in Europe, with a welcoming environment for students and excellent professors. While not the newest institution, it has embraced innovation, and there is ample space for study and learning.

Apart from the history that makes this university one of the most emblematic in the world, there’s quite a lot of research and innovation being brought up here. While having the most museums and libraries throughout 3 different university campus, and a few other buildings spread through town, it preserves it’s history taking place on top of ruins from the Roman Empire.
It isn’t, however, outdated, it keeps itself as a world renowned teaching institution, and develops many investigative subjects.
It is the only place in Portugal with a particle accelerator, and has one of the best employment ratings for recently graduated students.
This is only possible through the helpfulness that manifest itself between teachers, between students and between teacher and student. All around there’s a collaborative mood that ensures not only teaching but also learning is done in the best way possible.
The University consists of many departments that alight themselves with certain areas, however one course may have classes in various of these departments, regardless of which one it belongs to.
Overall, it’s an institution that ensures a better future daily, whilst being one of the most historical places in all of Europe.

The university (more specifically the Physics Department), while not the most modern, could be much better. The classes sometimes aren’t worth attending due to the way the professors teach the material, but the atmosphere and academic life are great.

The academic atmosphere in Coimbra is inexplicable, making this University an incredibly welcoming environment. The professors are highly qualified and dedicated, promoting demanding yet stimulating teaching with a strong connection to scientific research. Academic life goes far beyond the classroom: the Queima das Fitas (Burning of the Ribbons), the Latada (a traditional student celebration), and the year-round social gatherings are part of an unforgettable university experience. Studying at the University of Coimbra is to live a history spanning centuries of knowledge, culture, and friendship—a place where you learn as much from books as from people.

Studying at the University of Coimbra was a good experience overall. I really like the academic environment and student life, which is quite active and diverse. The university has an incredible history, and that makes me proud to be a part of it.

On the other hand, I noticed some disorganization and slowness in the administrative services, and there isn’t always much support for the students. Even so, the training is of high quality and the teachers, for the most part, are dedicated.

I have mixed feelings about my experience at UC. On one hand, they took a little too long to give me an answer about whether I got in or not, so I ended up losing a full semester. On the other hand, the people at StudentHub and in my department can be very helpful.

Dealing with paperwork and documents at the university can be extremely bureaucratic—just be ready for that. Coimbra is a student-centric city, so most activities and programs are targeted at students aged 18–21. In my opinion, if you’re older, have different tastes, or aren’t into clubbing and parties, there will be considerably fewer things to do in the city itself.

I love techno music, and if I want to listen to that kind of music, I need to go to bigger cities like Porto or Lisbon. One thing that stands out is that you can really feel the academic atmosphere at all times. Not to mention that you can find all kinds of support at the university and ESN Coimbra (for Erasmus students), which helps a lot—not only for national students but also for international ones.

This university is great, has lots of open space a lot of cafeterias. Most of the teachers are great and are ready to help the students anytime the need. It’s also a very unique university as it has different poles and each correspond to certain areas

Its a very hood institucion, good teachers and modern knowledge. While a few of the buildings may be old, the New infraestrutures are considerably more capable of performance research in various fields and aplications.

There are numerous benefits associated with enrolling in this university. One standout feature is its remarkable student community, known for its collaborative and supportive nature. The environment is conducive to learning, with students readily offering assistance to their peers through study groups, tutoring sessions, and informal interactions. This sense of camaraderie creates a familial atmosphere, where students feel supported and encouraged throughout their academic journey.
