Im a final year student at DHA Suffa currently pursuing my bachelors in Software Engineering and my overall experience has been positive. Every institute has its pros and cons but in Suffa’s case, i believe the pros outweigh the cons. The university has been delivering somewhat of a good balance in theoretical and practical skills. Campus life is not the most diverse in terms of facilities, but it is satisfactory.
The thing that i personally like the most are the frequent workshops, career fairs, events etc that gives industry exposure and networking opportunities to the students which can help them immensely in kickstarting their careers. Another thing that i like is the university’s International Education Resource Center (IERC) which has been sending students abroad for semester exchange programs, tours etc. They have been signing a lot of mou’s with universities around the globe. Mid tier universities in Karachi usually do not have this resource. Its a kind of a new thing for students here which attracts them and is quite exciting. One of the few dislikes that i had in the earlier days of my bachelors was the inefficiency of the management which has now been improved a lot and is still improving.
I would recommend this institute to students interested in pursuing a tech related field which can include CS, CYS, DS, SE etc. Because you can get good industrial exposure and opportunities to go abroad. There is a mechanical and electrical department as well but Im not quite sure of how it is since I only know about the CS department. They offer psychology and IR as well so students interested could visit their website to further look into programs.
