There’s great emphasis on academics with a lot of the programs brought here as distance learning versions of top foreign universities. Overall, pretty good but some courses seem a bit too introductory and bit more rigour could make for an even better academic experience.
Extra curriculars on the other hand are awesome. I have no complaints because I regularly have the chance to go to concerts, MUNs, trips, quizzes and charity drives. The only way I think it could be stepped up is offering scholarship funded trips abroad to students who perform exceptionally well in certain academic or non academic areas.
BNU has, in my opinion, the most aesthetically designed and well-built campus. With a 1:1 ratio cricket pitch, a football court, multi-story cafeteria building, and many academic blocks, the campus brings together all these elements into one unified institution.
View moreArchitecture in itself is a skill more than a degree, it’s learning diversity is vast and goes beyond the syllabus or designs of just architecture. The almost six year degree is actually worth it, I’ve learnt marketing, business, professionalism, urban planning, architectural history, landscaping, sustainability and financial management through this. Student life gradually got better over the years; there were several international level events and a few national level ones that allowed us to meet different people; learn different cultures; visit history; learn languages and sports.
View moreI did my undergrad in Applied Psychology, the program itself was a holistic approach to psychology in general. With theory there were placements and opportunities to go to hospitals and asylums to build cases and provide our own opinion to what the diagnosis will be. The only thing I did not like was the fact that our department did not have a separate building otherwise the whole experience throughout my four years were very nice. The student life is extremely fun and there’s no peer pressure of any sort anywhere. Everybody is accepting of everybody’s identities. In my opinion international students can come and easily gel in with the students and the teachers. BNU helps you find jobs by having job fairs and continuously introducing their students to new opportunities through events and emails even long after they’ve graduated.
View moreThe university is overall satisfactory but there is an issue of relative grading experienced by almost all students which causes added stress and anxiety to students. Other aspects of the university are pretty good and I would recommend people to join the university. However, being from the Psychology department, there are some students’ concerns regarding grading and assistance which need to be addressed properly.
