My opinion about the university:
My overall opinion of NOUN is positive. The university provides a flexible and accessible platform for higher education through its distance learning system, which suits students balancing work and personal commitments.
My likes about the university:
• The convenience of online lectures conducted by knowledgeable facilitators.
• Comprehensive and well-organized study materials that support independent learning.
• The university’s commitment to expanding access to education across Nigeria, especially to remote areas.
My dislikes about the university:
• Administrative processes can be slow, with delays in communication.
• Occasional scheduling issues for examinations and assignments.
• Some programmed answers in electronic exams have been incorrect, negatively impacting student results.
Would i recommend NOUN?
Yes, I would recommend NOUN to self-motivated students who need flexible learning options. Prospective students should be prepared to manage their studies independently and be proactive in communicating with facilitators and university staff. While NOUN offers valuable opportunities, patience is needed to navigate occasional administrative challenges.
National Open University of Nigeria is good for those who are already working. I love the fact that you have the opportunity to learn while working. So it gives time.
I don’t like ghe fact that there are no hard copies of resource materials even when one pays. The courses are not uploaded to the students portal ,at times you get to see some courses when you think you are done with the last semester. I advise that the school should allow the students to be able to view their outstanding courses in their portal.
Some project supervisors makes it difficult for students to graduate alongside their coursemates.
