I attend Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile ife, Osun state in Nigeria also known as OAU. My school has been rated as one of the top 10 universities in Nigeria so it’s safe to say it’s one of the best. I love my school and I chose to go there because of the numerous successful alumni I know and I’ve come in contact with. One of the things my school is known for is producing successful people. Asides producing successful people, it’s also known for its beautiful campus, industrious students and it’s lecturers who are like mentors. It’s a school where you meet people who share your opinions and it’s helps you be the best you can be. The student union of the school are no joke either, the student rights are the top priority for this committee. They also organize shows, seminars even music concerts to help students loosen up after few weeks of intense studies. My school has good facilities too and conducive classrooms for students to assimilate better. The school gives good education generally and as much as I love the school, there are a few things I hate and the top on my list is it’s location. The school is situated in a very indigenous state where the community thinks it has a significant say in what the school can or cannot do and the government really can’t do anything about it. Another thing is the school’s security. The schools security is tight as they implemented strategies in which they can uphold peace and safety in the school but there are still minimal cases of students riots every now and then. These are just my opinions and I’d recommend the school to anyone regardless. Some call Obafemi Awolowo University the Nigeria’s version of Stanford university. There are a lot of experiences and I still learn something cool about my school everyday. No one regrets coming to OAU.
