Focusing on its academics, facilities, and student life, the University of Calabar is a public research university located in Calabar, Nigeria. It’s one of the most respected universities in Nigeria, and it’s well-known for its programs in agriculture, education, and engineering. The university has excellent facilities, including a modern library, state-of-the-art laboratories, and well-equipped classrooms.

However this is slowly facing away partly due to the mismanagement of the the school resources, non chalancy of the students and the overall poor educational system in Nigeria.

But it is worthy of note that the doggedness and unity of the students are very impressive coupled with the active involvement of the lectures to ensure the success of this students.

Overall i would recommend the school for anyone looking for affordable study in Nigeria

I am in my first year but I think my opinion is valid too. I used to hear so much about Unical’s Radiography program but I did not fully believe. When I got in later last year, I was gobsmacked by the facilities, and devices equipment we were shown at the Orientation. Then my classes started and certain Professors were MIA. I don’t think the Zoology professor ever showed up even for a day. Classes were jampacked and some students had to stand or sit on the bare floor. That was a huge shock for me and I was utterly perplexed. In terms of accommodation, there isn’t much of a problem for the boys as many boys prefer to stay off Campus thereby freeing up more space for those who intend to stay on campus. There isn’t one international person I’ve seen yet but I strongly believe we don’t have a lot of international students at this school. The career prospects are looking very bright as Radiography and Radiological sciences are leading the world of medicine today. They don’t call us the eyes of medicine for no reason. Would I recommend it to people I know? Yeah, I would, I’ve had a good time so far.

Well, I enjoy unical because of the buildings and surroundings. Radiography is a course not for the weak. MY lecturer is very strict but he really cares about our needs. The facilities in unical is top-notch, the hostels are not so great. The classrooms in my department are okay, also near and tidy. It’s a great school.

Well, I think this is one of the worst learning institutions there is. The academic standard is very poor, zero interest from lecturers to educate students, poor facilities, you’re better off learning on your own but in the end, it’s the certificate or degree that matter so. There’s nothing I learn about the school and definitely, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Unfortunately, the school was not what a tertiary institution should be though it is what most Nigerian schools do feel like. I don’t want to go into details but serious improvement is needed. I only hope things get better in future.

The University Of Calabar is a very Amazing Place for Learning. In Just a few months I’ve spent there, I have discovered that there are alot of opportunities one will find and can maximize. Firstly the Learning programs are organized. The facilities may not be the best but you’ll be comfortable enough. Most of the lecturers are Wonderful and passionate about their Career. The students are extremely gentle as we all understand ourselves. You won’t just he studying in just any learning environment, you will become a Member of a Family. There’s Hardly any Violence so your safety is rest assured with Campus and in the Hostel. There are alot of opportunities within the environment. But you must make sure you are financially prepared for each Semester, if not, Things could get really ugly 🤣😏

I’ve had a decent time thus far considering I’m in my first year. Its not a bad school in all fairness, It’s just an average school that has the potential to be so much better than it is. The School is run by highly untrustworthy people and funds are often misused and embezzled by these people and these actions sometimes affect the students, Programmes structures and facilities. Nevertheless, it’s a good school which people from around the area go to. Calabar is a beautiful city with wonderful people and a bubbly environment so student life is always lively. Despite the school’s shortcomings, it’s still a good institution in my opinion.

The program is all good but the issue is the school. The administration makes a lot of things stressful and complicated. The facility’s availability depends on the program you want to do, accommodations are below standard.

Diagnostic Radiography is one of the best program The University of calabar offers. They’re one of the very few Universities that offer this program in Nigeria. I still attend classes in lecture rooms, nothing exactly “hands on” yet as I am in my second year but considering what I have heard from my seniors, I do believe so much more has got to be done in terms of state of the art facilities for The students. I haven’t had much of an issue myself thus far but I believe there are certain pot holes that require covering. It’s a good school nonetheless and I’d definitely recommend to other people
