    UNIBEN

Can be a good place to socialize, there’s always a spur to do more academically though sometimes it unfortunately puts pressure on the students. One of the things I find upsetting is the fact that some lecturers want to be bribed either through money or sex.
Asides this, I would totally recommend this university.

My Experience at the University of Benin

The university of Benin is one of the best public universities in Nigeria which is evident in how competitive it is to get in. The best part of the school is it’s environment, the fun that comes with been a student. My only dislike is how competitive getting in can be since there’s always a massive number of applicants. I would recommend the school to anyone who’s up for a challenge and is ready to dedicate time to his/her studies.

Learning and Life at the University of Benin

University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a great place to study and I would advise people with a passion for the humanities and International relations to study International Studies and Diplomacy. It’s also a good place to grow as a human and meet great people as long as you are focused and ambitious.

    Accommodation and lecturing method

The University of Benin is a great institution of learning with great minds who help mold the future. The method of lecturing is superb but can be better. I enjoyed the affordable tuition and accommodation (on campus) fees. However, accommodation outside campus should be made more affordable, and more hostels should be built to house a larger number of students.

    International Studies And Diplomacy

The University of Benin Nigeria is one of the prestigious institutions any average Nigerian would want to study in, at least she falls among the top ten universities in Nigeria.
International Studies And Diplomacy certificate and related courses around the world should be a good sort after disciplines around the world; for governments that see their relations and interactions with other states as a means to an end in the furtherance of their National Interest. With such importance to the further national interest, nations will always look out for individuals to be trained in the areas of international relations, strategic studies and foreign policy initiatives. Unfortunately, Nigeria is bedevilled with political aggrandizement where everything is politicized; an average Nigerian wouldn’t have the opportunity to serve her country at the foreign Ministery if such an individual does not ‘know somebody that knows somebody’ at the helm of affairs, such is the fatal fate of most of us that studied international Studies And Diplomacy and related courses in Nigeria.
Back at the university of Benin Nigeria, the learning environment is genuine and serene enough to facilitate healthy learning for cumulative grades for graduation with the best class of degrees. Unfortunately, also, Nigeria and Africa at large have shallow-minded individuals that do not want students to do better than their teachers, that’s why the country is where it is; such is also the abnormalities that bedevilled some hard-working students at the University of Benin Nigeria, a student will be surprised to see lower grades than expected par Efforts put in; just as you would see in the labour force that what you earn is in no way equilibrium to talent and efforts put in.
The last part of my review explains employability chances In both the public and private sectors with a degree in International Studies And Diplomacy. As mentioned above, you don’t get the chance to serve Nigeria as a diplomatic agent or as a consultant for foreign policy initiatives if you don’t ‘know somebody that knows somebody’…, You would be left with the option of getting a job with the private sectors. The question now is, which private company needs your skills as a diplomat? Maybe and maybe you get a chance to work as a business development associate, customer service and public relations officer, business growth and development associate, liaison officer for trans-national and Mul-national corporations etc, but your chances are very slim. I can categorically say that most of my colleagues both senior and juniors had found jobs in companies that has nothing to do with international relations or the international community. So, why exactly do you want to do with that certificate? Personally, I have never been employed because I studied international Studies And Diplomacy, I have been given employment opportunities in some companies for the mere reason that I’m a college(university) graduate in roles such as front office personnel, supervisor and chef, and all of which are from the hospitality industry. I have not had the opportunity to practice my acquired skills, not even after obtaining a second degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies from another prestigious institution; the University of Lagos Nigeria, such is the ordeal of an African child who doesn’t have or come from an elite background.
Finally, I will not advise anyone to study international Studies And Diplomacy if such individual hope to build a career in that line, except for knowledge purposes, and if such an individual knows somebody that knows somebody. The University of Benin Nigeria is a commendable institute of learning, students should really see their hard work in their grades and class of degrees.

    Thank you.

To start off the University of Benin lacks infrastructure I.e lecture room, and study and research facilities, especially the Halls of residence I’ll rate it 2/10. The teaching method of still very much analog. However, student life is super lively in Uniben. It’s always lively and filled with activities.
