Nnamdi Azikiwe university is a great citadel of learning. Discipline, self-reliance and excellence as the motto is not just mere words, but rather what you will become after being admitted. Centre of academic excellence.

The school popularly known as Unizik, is one of the most revered, given it’s usually in the top 3 of the most applied school by students from JAMB statistics.
My expectation of what studying civil engineering would be like wasn’t what I had in mind before. Maybe, I had so much expectations. The 100 and 200 level as an engineering students would rank high as the worst years of my life. The whole first year engineering students, that’s students admitted into the 9 engineering departments of the school share one lecture hall. What I describe as an air-tight classroom with no air conditioning system or working fans. There’s no public address system, no projector, and no enough sitting space. FEG hall, as it is called, will make you hate learning. It was a survival of the fittest.
Learning conditions got better when we got to 300 level. At this point, the 9 departments have each gone their separate ways. Learning was now more conducive as we have less number in class.
Overall, I can say anyone applying to Unizik should braze up for a difficult task. The school could be figuratively described as a learning jungle.
