Massey University was my top pick in New Zealand, I’d heard great things about their creative department and campus life. Although I did a year at Victoria University, they have a renowned architectural and design program that i wanted to focus on for my electives. After returning to Massey to continue my Media major, I realised how much I preferred Massey overall. The classes are welcoming, the tutors are very helpful. There is a committee that will read over your work and give you feedback a limited amount of times per semester which gives you a lot more confidence in working on the major assignments. Although most of my time with Massey has been distance, this has been a great way for me to view the universtiy from afar, and acknowldge how muhc attention they pay to those even overseas. To still be included and held accountable for participation in the forms, has been beneficial in collaborative work. Last semester we had a collaborative consulting report with a team of 4. My teammates were in the UK and Canada, I was pleased with my tutor’s understanding of time zones and the obstacles we may face calling one another at certain times. It was a great experience and worked out well! If I could improve anything it would be fewer YouTube video resources being shared and more of the tutor discussing things that are more specific to the Massey students.
