    Great Program

My experience at the Al Akhawayn University has been both positive and negative. On the bright side, I truly admired the gorgeous campus, the American-style education system, the stimulating classes, and well-informed professors. Learning environment helps in critical thinking and personal development and I really enjoyed that. On a negative note, I was frustrated by the bureaucracy, homework was sometimes very demanding, and the absence policies were tough. All in all, AUI is a rather interesting experience, and it has a set of challenges.

goos both academically and in terms of softskills

I liked the curriculum and the curriculum activities included in my university. It helps the student grow academically and in terms of personality. the environment is adequate to focus on the studies, network with students, create relationships with professors, participate in clubs activities and have a great social life.

Finding myself at Al Akhawayn University

My time at Al Akhawayn University was an experience that truly shaped who I am today. It’s where I grew, learned, and built my identity. AUI is special not just because it’s the only university in Morocco with a liberal arts system, but because it provides a well-rounded education that goes beyond just academics.
The university’s setting is one of my favorite parts. Surrounded by nature, the peaceful environment made it easy to feel calm and focused. Even though we were a small community, it was a close-knit one. Everyone looked out for each other, and the professors were incredible, both highly knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping us succeed.
That said, not everything was perfect. The bureaucracy, especially in departments like housing, registration, and the business office, could be frustratingly slow and inefficient. I think it’s because the university is growing but hasn’t scaled its administrative systems to keep up. It’s an area they could definitely improve.
Despite the occasional frustration, I wouldn’t trade my time at AUI for anything. It’s a place that gave me so much more than an education. It gave me confidence, lifelong friendships, and a clearer sense of who I want to be.

    Academic vs extracurricular life

What I liked the most about the university was the opportunities to create a balanced life between developing academic soft and technical skills through the different extracurricular activities like workshops, volunteer work, and clubs. This would help the students build a strong character and acquire numerous skills that would be of help in their professional lives in the future.
What I wasn’t quite satisfied with was the few majors offered compared to other universities which does not leave you with lot of choices.

    AUI

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) is a unique and vibrant institution located in Ifrane, Morocco, also known as “Morocco’s Switzerland.” It offers an American-style liberal arts education fully in English, which makes it stand out from other Moroccan colleges that follow the French system. The campus looks like a small European village, surrounded by beautiful trees, adding to its charm.

What makes AUI special is its diversity, as students from all around the world come to study or participate in exchange programs. At AUI, you can join various clubs, enjoy modern classrooms, and learn in a peaceful, scenic environment. It’s a great place for a well-rounded education.
The only downside is its location. Despite Ifrane being a beautiful city, it’s small and doesn’t offer many activities, making it feel a bit isolated, especially if you’re far from your hometown.
