    Affordable but Limited for Internationals

Mykolas Romeris University is a solid option for students who want to study at an affordable cost, though it has several limitations that international students should consider. The university offers a few English-taught programs that are much cheaper than those in most other European countries. Undergraduate programs include Business, Psychology, and Law, while master’s programs include LLM and MBA. The Global Law and Security (LLB) program is especially well-regarded internationally. It is a well-structured program that focuses mainly on international and foundational areas of law, with limited coverage of Lithuanian law. The program lasts 3.5 years, and the final six months are spent doing an internship, which gives students valuable professional exposure. The curriculum also includes regular visits to local courts, allowing students to experience how the legal system operates in practice. Although court sessions are in Lithuanian, English audio translations are provided, making these visits educational and accessible for international students.

The campus is small but welcoming, with a friendly atmosphere among both local and international students. However, extracurricular life is limited. There are only a few student clubs and some sports activities, so it does not provide a lively or well-rounded university experience. Food options on campus are also limited, with only one kebab shop and one coffee place nearby, which can feel repetitive for those living on campus. The dormitories are older buildings, but remain manageable and affordable. On-campus housing costs around 250 to 300 euros per month. Most dorm rooms are shared, and bathrooms and washrooms are communal. Single rooms are available but very limited. The housing situation is basic but convenient for students on a budget, offering reasonable living conditions close to campus facilities.

Administrative and career-related support at the university could be improved. The admission process is sometimes slow, and students may encounter mistakes or delays due to communication issues caused by language barriers. It is important for international students to stay proactive, double-check details, and maintain close contact with university staff. One of the biggest challenges is the lack of part-time job opportunities in Vilnius. Almost every job requires Lithuanian language skills, which makes it very difficult for international students to find employment while studying. This means that students hoping to gain professional experience during their studies may be disappointed, as the only real opportunity for practical work experience is the six-month internship included in the program. Overall, Mykolas Romeris University provides strong academic value and good international exposure for an affordable price, but it is better suited for those focused mainly on studying rather than working or pursuing an active campus life.

    Balanced Experience

My experience at MRU was overall positive. The professors are approachable and willing to help, especially if you take initiative. The university is very internationally oriented, which means you’ll meet people from all over the world, making studies more dynamic and multicultural. The campus is modern, with a good library and decent student support services.

What I liked most was the flexibility in programmes and the strong focus on practical learning. Many courses encourage teamwork and critical thinking. I also appreciated the exchange programmes and Erasmus opportunities, which MRU actively supports.

On the downside, sometimes the administrative side (paperwork, communication between departments) can feel slow or a bit disorganized. Also, while the university is strong in law, social sciences, and public administration, if you’re looking for cutting-edge facilities in STEM fields, it might not be the best choice.

I recommend it especially for students interested in social sciences, law, business, or international studies. It’s a great option if you want to study in a multicultural environment at a university that’s student-friendly and focused on international connections.

    Amazing time

Best law education ever. I strongly believe that this university has very strong law background. Information and help was provided perfectly in this university. Time passes fast, but lots of good memories are still in my heart.
