    My personal experience

While the university may be considered somewhat average overall, its standout feature lies in the diverse range of extracurricular programs it offers, contributing significantly to a vibrant campus life. The frequent organization of events adds a dynamic touch, fostering a sense of community among students. However, it’s worth noting that certain modules and lecturers might not meet the highest standards, presenting room for improvement. Despite these shortcomings, my personal affinity for the university persists, perhaps owing to its positive aspects and the overall experience it provides.

Strong energy program with real-world focus

I am very satisfied with my experience studying Energy Technologies and Economics at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). The program offers a great balance between engineering/energy-related subjects and economics, which makes it very relevant for today’s job market and the future of the energy sector.

What I liked most is that the courses are well-structured and modern, covering important topics such as energy systems, sustainability, energy efficiency, and economic decision-making. Many assignments and projects are connected to real-world energy challenges, which helped me build both technical understanding and analytical skills. The program also encourages critical thinking and problem-solving, which is very valuable.

The lecturers are professional, knowledgeable, and usually very supportive. They explain complex topics clearly and are open to questions, which creates a positive learning environment. I also appreciated the international atmosphere and opportunities to collaborate with other students.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this program to students who want to work in the energy sector, especially those interested in combining technology with economics and management. It is a strong program that prepares students well for both further studies and career opportunities

    Solid Engineering Foundation

Studying Electrical Engineering at KTU has been a really positive experience for me. The program gives a solid foundation in both theory and practical knowledge, and you can really feel yourself improving over time. The subjects are relevant and well-organized, especially if you’re interested in areas like power systems or automation.

One of the best parts is the professors—they are knowledgeable and, in many cases, genuinely supportive. When you show interest and put in effort, they are approachable and willing to help, which makes a big difference.

I also liked the balance between lectures and projects. There are opportunities to work on practical assignments that help you understand how things work in real life, not just on paper. It feels good when you can apply what you’ve learned.

Another big plus is the flexibility. If you’re motivated, you can explore research, join projects, or even connect with industry opportunities. The environment encourages you to grow at your own pace.

Overall, it feels like a place where you can build strong skills, gain confidence, and prepare yourself well for an engineering career.

I studied as an exchange student at KTU for 5 months. The university is one of the oldest and most established universities in the country. The university gave us a warm welcome and the international office took good care of us. I’m satisfied with my education. There are lot of opportunities to improve yourself.
If you’re wondering language, there is no language barrier because everybody speaks English very well. The university also has a large number of international students.
The university has lots of dormitories which solves your accommodation situation and it offers social facilities such as ESN club, gym and special events for students.
Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience.

    Inside KTU Energy MSc

Studying the Energy Technologies and Economics MSc at Kaunas University of Technology feels a bit like standing at the intersection of engineering logic and real-world impact. It’s not just about equations or policies—it’s about understanding how energy actually shapes economies, politics, and everyday life.

What stands out first is how the program blends two worlds that are usually taught separately. One day you’re digging into renewable systems and grid efficiency, and the next you’re analyzing market behavior, pricing models, or energy policy decisions. That mix keeps things from ever feeling one-dimensional. It pushes you to think like both an engineer and a strategist.

The teaching style leans practical. Professors don’t just throw theory at you—they connect it to current energy challenges in Europe and beyond. Case studies, simulations, and project work make you feel like you’re already part of the industry rather than just preparing for it. At times, the workload can feel intense, especially when technical and economic assignments collide, but that pressure is also what builds confidence.

Another underrated aspect is the international environment. You’re surrounded by students from different countries, each bringing their own perspective on energy issues—whether it’s sustainability, infrastructure gaps, or policy differences. That diversity quietly becomes one of the most valuable parts of the experience.

Of course, it’s not perfect. If you come in expecting purely technical depth or purely business-focused learning, you might need time to adjust. The program sits right in the middle, which can feel demanding but ultimately makes you more versatile.

By the end, you don’t just graduate with a degree—you walk away thinking differently about how energy systems function in the real world. And in a field that’s evolving as fast as energy, that mindset matters more than memorizing formulas.

Strong Blend of Theory and Research

Studying the MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Kaunas University of Technology has been a rewarding and challenging experience. What I appreciate most about the program is the balance between advanced theoretical knowledge and practical engineering applications. The courses cover modern topics such as power systems, electronics, automation, renewable energy technologies, and intelligent control systems, which are highly relevant to current industry needs.

The lecturers are knowledgeable and supportive, and many are actively involved in research projects, which creates opportunities for students to participate in scientific work and develop strong analytical skills. The university’s laboratories are well-equipped, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with real engineering tools and technologies rather than learning only from textbooks.

Another positive aspect is the international environment. Working with students from different countries helped me improve my communication skills and broaden my perspective on engineering challenges. The program also encourages independent thinking, problem-solving, and research, which are valuable for both industry careers and future PhD studies.
