This university has been as beneficial as it has been deceiving me. On the positive side, I would say that I have been able to enter the work world easily thanks to the English and the presentation methodology I have learned. In addition, the American system, which emphasizes extracurricular activities and versatility, gave me the opportunity to develop more skills. On the negative side, I would say that my expectations were not met. I expected much more in terms of the quality of the courses. Having done a degree in political science, I found the courses not adapted to the realities of the African and Ivorian context. There was no advisor to follow me in my field in the beginning. I also found that there was no follow-up on the professional insertion of the students but there is a department of insertion now which facilitates things.
Definitely I would recommend IUGB in the hope that the negative remarks will be taken into consideration.
IUGB is a pretty great university. Its attractiveness resides in the fact that it is an American style university. This permits to us, students to have more time for researches. I was enrolled in Political Science/ International relations but thanks to American style, I was able to take micro and macro economics courses which were not mandatory for my graduation and necessary in someways. Concerning my POLS courses, they were suitable vis a vis the global context and delivered by knowledgeable lecturers (S/O to Mrs. COGLEY, TOMPIHE and BOTIAGNE). However, after my graduation, I felt like the university left me alone. I really struggled to find an internship. I heard that situation is not longer the same and there is a program to help newly graduates to find internship. Great experience, great people, great university.
View moreIt is one of the best universities to learn following a U.S based system in a French-speaking country. Teachers are excellent, there are good facilities for students, and the city got a good learning environment.
View moreGreat university with various programs. I really like the freedom to leave to the student to help them to achieve many things. The environment of Grand Bassam is calm and steady to permit people to study in one of the best universities in Côte D’Ivoire.
View moreIt’s a good university with more opportunities. We have a good instructor. You can speak both English and French. Also, IUGB has many clubs where you can enjoy yourself while you learn. IUGB is a big kind family.
View morefor my program in political science, the professors were perfect, had perfect knowledge of the courses and were available in class and after class. what I would have preferred and that I suggest to IUGB is the follow-up of their students after graduation in order to facilitate internships and even jobs.
View moreIUGB is a good school with well-qualified instructors from Top universities all around the world. The good facilities that can be improved. Despite the good quality of instructors, the school needs to improve students’ professional insertion this will bring a lot of satisfaction to students and their parents. A system can be put in place for helping students majoring in this school to find an internship each year from Freshman to senior in state institutions, NGOs or companies. This will help students acquire more and more experience satisfaction. A strategy that can give to this school a comparative advantage.
View moreIt was a very exciting program. At first, I was a little bit doubtful about it but then I easily adapted myself.
Political Science is a field where all courses are involved, maths, chemistry, biology!
The International University of Grand Bassam offers us an ideal study environment. It welcomes students of various nationalities, with more than 14 nationalities in Africa, but also receives students from Europe, Asia and America. The programs offered to us are diversified and adapted to today’s challenges. The teachers are very available to students during and after class for better student monitoring. Student life is very active on campus, with various clubs in which students can get involved. In addition, the programs offered by the university are quite varied and very up-to-date, allowing students to have a critical mind.
Although the university would have some minor flaws, it really registers as an elite university.
I very like university, teachers and my schoolmate. Teachers are very kind and explain courses well. I recommend this school to future students and my advice for them is to focus on their studies and don’t be afraid to ask questions to teachers when they feel difficulties.
