Dubious choices for international programs

Exams are mostly all oral, which is something very Italian but not common outside of Italy, it is not a very straight-forward and standardized method of judging one’s knowledge, specially when it’s one exam for a yearly or semester course so you have hundreds of pages of studying to get 1-2 questions and if you can’t answer that specific questions you need to resit the whole exam, now repeat that for 5-8 exams a semester and things become unbearable really fast.
Communications with some professors can be really tricky and you need to tip-toe around them instead of just being able to have a professional exchange. Most professors seem to be there against their will and will just read slides and expect you to be able to basically recite the information back at them during exams.
Some buildings were renewed or built new but still don’t have enough space to hold a full class, or have very uncomfortable desks and very narrow, most places don’t have AC (or it’s not strong enough) while Pavia can reach 32-38 degrees celsius in the summer for many, many days.
