From my personal experience, studying Transport Systems Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome has been a good and meaningful journey. The programme is well structured and focuses a lot on important topics like transport planning, traffic modelling, and mobility management. I personally felt the courses were useful and connected to real-world transportation problems, not just theory.
Most of the professors are knowledgeable and supportive, and if you are serious about learning, you will gain strong technical skills that can help in your future career. Since the programme is taught in English, it was easier for me to adjust, and I also got to meet many international students. The multicultural environment makes the experience more enjoyable and helps you build a global mindset.
However, one challenge I faced was the administration system, which can be slow and sometimes confusing, especially in the beginning. You need patience when dealing with documents, emails, or university procedures.
Overall, I would say Sapienza is a solid choice if you want a quality education in transportation engineering and also want the experience of living and studying in Italy.
