I like the university and the current program I’m attending, management engineering. Some professors are amazing and others are too full of themselves and they think their classes are the most important out of all course. Somer of them have a big ego! The campuses are beautiful, modern. I haven’t bought any books because you can find them all at the library. I love the vibes of the uni.

My program mainly focuses on the design of Infrastructures and the use of mathematical knowledge to develop the mathematical models of the real-world problem, overall it is a very good university for structural engineering with great faculty and very well-experienced teachers who give you a real sight of connecting the academic knowledge to real-world problems.

Milan’s Politecnico is among the best universities in the world, just being aware of that makes me proud.

There are two things I’d like to highlight in this review: the transition from actual classes to online ones and back again, and a project I’ve been part of.

When covid first struck, it took us a little more than a week to be fully operational again, in a way that – sure – couldn’t emulate the student life outside classes, but satisfied the demands and managed to teach us what we were supposed to learn.

When we came back to campus, all the rooms were equipped with a camera and an overhead mic, in order to be able to welcome both physically and virtually attending students.

I think it pulled out the good from the covid experience and added it to actual classes.

Secondly, I took part in one of the numerous projects outside classes.

It really was important for me: both for my development as a designer and the deployment of my passions.

It is a Formula Student team, a group of circa 100 students who join forces to build a racecar.

This symbolises the student life (there are hundreds of projects a student can take part in) that surrounds this university: there’s something for everyone.

All in all, I think it’s a really good place to study. Of course, you could happen to have a kinky professor or to be in a study course that you don’t like, but this can happen in every university, so I wouldn’t make it count.

The climate change specialization in the field of environmental and land engineering offered by Politecnico is quite interesting in terms of understanding the current and future problems faced by the world due to Greenhouse gases emissions. The in-depth knowledge of policies, protocols and guidelines to cope up with the big threats of climate change is well planned in this course of 2 years.

About the program, it is interesting the cultural diversity of the students, and the erasmus experiences of the program, in classes they teach real cases as well interesting activities related to labour environment.

The content of the program in terms of courses is good enough but the only problem, in my opinion, is that the content is so heavy and it lacks the policy Part.

The teaching method is so imitative and it’s all theoretical and sometimes contains unnecessary Details.

In general, this combination makes it tough and requires high persistence even if you are highly interested in it.

Unfortunatly my year at this university wasn’t as good as I expected. The distribution of buildings and classrooms is chaotic and impossible to understand and to find.
Teachers are always unpunctual to teach and to attend exams, but for Italian students everything is normal, (I still can’t undestand)

Anyway life on this campus is great because there are many activities, places to eat, a huge green area, it is well connected by means of transportation

If you are looking for a university where you can relax don’t choose Polimi. It is not an easy university, during the year you will be challenged by professors, exams and projects. However, Politecnico prepares you for a future working life. I mean, it doesn’t give you all the knowledge necessary, but it gives u a method, and it teaches u to adopt a rigorous mood in whatever u have to do.
It is tough, but it pays off.
