I arrived in Lecce in 2018. I was a 19-year old girl, curious but confused about her future and her abilities, moving alone for the very first time. I still remember the welcome in my first student apartment, that I shared with two colleagues. Soon, we became a real family: we lived together, we went to the university together, we partied together. The student life was not the best, compared to other cities in Italy, since Lecce is a small town, but there are distinctive pubs and bars where you can find live music, local beers and the food from Puglia is just AMAZING! I liked the classes, the professors were young and open to any suggestions to improve the lessons; also the amount of study was fair. I spent my last year in Spain, with an Erasmus programme first, and then for an internship. The University of Salento doesn’t have a real international netword in my opinion, but still, it offers 3/4 countries every year to study abroad. Except for some external problems (few public means of transport, bureaucratic disorganization), it has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
